Stop the roller coaster......

http://www.90percentattitude.com/scr/hulk.jpg

Please, I need out! I feel like I've been on an endless up and down this week and I'm running out of energy and patience, I need to be let out so I can breathe. UGH!

I'm so sorry I haven't been around, my poor family is probably wondering where I disappeared to, good news is I'm fine, we're all fine. Just overwhelmed and I don't know......

Jasmine is finally over her cold, she's back at school and being her usual perky, back talking, attitude throwing almost 9 year old. I swear it's like she's 9 going on 19!

I've had a really rough time with her this week, we've been butting heads to say the least. Is it always like this? Everyone says it's a phase but when does it stop? Cause I would like to know just for sure, I want to prepare myself, if there even is a way to do that. I'm just at my wits end, it's frustrating when you're a parent and you find yourself at a loss of what to do. Nothing like your child slamming doors while yelling "I hate you" to make you foresee the wonderful teenage years ahead. Help me mommy! LOL

Anyway, aside from mine and Jasmine's wonderful bonding moments *snicker*, things are ok. Curt is working weird hours this week so it tends to throw the whole schedule for a loop. Nicholas is doing good, he's got a bit of a cold just like I do, but we've been drinking lots of fluids and taking it easy, so we're keeping it at bay.

I haven't done much, I haven't read, I haven't blogged, I haven't watched tv. Quite frankly I don't know where the past few days have gone, I'm exhausted but can't give you details of why I got there. So if you see my energy laying around somewhere, go ahead and send it on back, I truly truly need it.

One thing I have been able to watch is the American Idol premieres and LOL No Words! I've just come to the conclusion that some people go on there for their 15 minutes of fame, knowing full well in advance that they can't sing or dance or apparently get dressed in matching clothes either. But yet I can't look away, it's like a bad train wreck, it's awful and you don't want to look but you can't pull away. Go figure!

I just got my Netflix movies today and I'm starting a series called "Christy" it's along the lines of Anne of Green Gables, so I'm really excited to start it, hopefully this weekend, if I get some time to myself.

Based on author Catherine Marshall's best-seller, this series centers on Christy Huddleston (Kellie Martin), an idealistic 19-year-old who leaves her upper-class city home for the rural community of Cutter Gap, Tenn., to teach impoverished children. Set in turn-of-the-century Appalachia, this heartwarming family drama also stars Tyne Daly and Randall Batinkoff.

I've got a few recipes to post on my food blog but I don't have the time right now, so I'll do it in the morning.

Speaking of recipes, thank you all for the great ones you have been sharing in my Slow Cooking Thursday. They are wonderful and I can't wait to try them...I also noticed quite a few Weight Watcher recipes being posted, I'm so pleased because my poor hips are begging for a reprieve from junk food. Problem is I'm too weak, I can't fight the food cravings LOL

Anyway, I just wanted to come in and touch bases with you all, I will try to drop by your blogs tomorrow.

God Bless,

I feel your pain! I used to butt heads with my oldest daughter all the time. She was a great kid, did good in school, everyone else told me what a sweetheart she was, but she and I did have our issues. I'm sorry to tell you it didn't go away quickly but as she got older it got better. She is now married and a more thoughtful, caring daughter I couldn't have. Good Luck! :)

I remember when Christy first came on tv, I loved it. I've got the 3 part mini series with Lauren Lee Smith. I won't tell you which beau she married.

Oh, I remember the phase and I dont miss it. Because now they are all teenagers and we have hit the "parents are stupid " phase. Yes, it only gets better !
Hang in there, there is light at the end of the tunnel !!!

someday :)

Good Morning Sandra,
Oh my goodness, I have a 9 year old as well, and I know what you mean and feel your misery as well. Our 9 year old is just about that way also. Instead of saying, "I Hate You", she always tells us that we are not her "Mom or Dad" anymore. That hurts like crazy. I tell her I will always be her Mom no matter what. We also have an 11 year old that is going to be 12 in April. I have my hands full for sure. I don't think it gets any better. LOL. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news my friend, but it doesn't look good. LOL. I'm glad Jasmine is feeling better tho. I haven't found your Energy anywhere. If I do, I may keep it because I need some Energy myself. I just don't have the get up and go like I used to. I guess the Old Age thing is kicking in. LOL. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.

Hugs,
Karen H.

We're having the same week. *sigh* I feel like I'm being overwhelmed by everything!

Emme has been giving me a lot of attitude lately. I prayed a whole lot about it last night. Something has to be done!

And the "Christy" series is on my queue too! I'll wait for your report once you watch it. Have you watched the "Anne of Avonlea" series? I've been through a few seasons and anytime I need some good, wholesome,heart-warming t.v., I'll order up a disc!

Oh, and I watched a great movie last week and can't remember the name -- you'd love it. It has Cheryl Ladd in it and it was a Lifetime movie -- Though None Go with Me? Something like that. It's about her life and how she made a commitment to God and followed it through the years.

That Christy series is really good.

Hope things smooth out with you and Jasmine. I think parents go through that with all kids during the preteen and teenage years, Sandra. Sometimes it will flare up and sometimes wit will die down and you'll get a reprieve. But it is there because they are growing up and wanting more and more independance. I will tell you one thing though, that we really noticed. It was worse in our household when we let the kids watch sitcoms where the kids treated their parents like they were total idiots. Seriously, they would seemingly take on the attitudes and backtalk of the characters. Once we got rid of a lot of those and became selective in what sitcoms we let them watch, it helped a lot. It didn't disappear totally but it wasn't as intense or constant.

And the book "Grace based parenting" was really helpful too.

Oh Sandra poor you. Chatterbox is 6 and she talks like she's 15 sometimes. Lol.

Lol we watched an American Idol last night, the one with the guy dressed up in Princess Leia's bikini (they sent him home to get a wax!) I mean yikes!! And then there was another girl who had Princess Leia's hair and threw a wobbly when she didn't get through. It's just great TV isn't it?

Hope you get your energy back soon, I'm a bit like that as my blood pressure's been really low recently.

Hugs
