Crepes anyone?

Come on in and sit with me, I have hot coffee and some warm crepes I just finished making. The kids ate most of them but there's still enough to share.

It's a beautiful morning here, not a cloud in the sky, not too hot right now and a small breeze, just perfect.

I don't know about you guys, but doesn't it seem that the blogland is very quiet lately? The comments have tapered off, the posts are sporadic, I think everyone is out enjoying the last few weeks of summer before school starts and fall arrives.

We're gearing up for school to beging here August 11th, the day after my birthday, how is that? Perfectly timed I think. Saturday I have to head to Walmart and get all the school supplies and some clothes for the kids too, yes I know it's Walmart, but I for one like their cheap inexpensive clothing and with two kids in school now, I'm sure my clothes budget for the kids is going way up.

Something else that is going to go up is my sadness LOL Any other moms with little ones starting kindergarten want to come cry with me??? I can cook and bake???? Food is not a problem, we can just eat and cry. *snicker*

Yesterday morning, I reopened by SparkPeople account and I'm determined to loose weight, I was going to do the whole weight watchers but I couldn't bring myself to pay the money for it just for someone to tell me how many points I can eat a day. I don't like that, I don't do good with being told what to do LOL I know you may find that funny, but it's the truth, I prefer allowing myself to eat healthier and watch my calories because the minute I tell my body that it's only allowed so and so points or this or that food, that's IT, it rebels, it goes beserk and I start binging.

So, I'm sticking to Sparkpeople, I've lost weight on it before, I go in and track my food each day, track my calories, increase my water and exercise and it works. We'll see how I do.

I'm glad you've all been enjoying the South Africa trip posts, it's coming to an end though, I only have a few photos to share with you. Like these, from our trip to Hartbeesport Dam the day before we left.

We drove around for a bit, ate lunch at a great Portuguese Restaurant and then stopped at a local flea market for some african souvenirs.

Great day!

This is an "Off Topic Comment" but...I seem to have lost my knack for posting/commenting in 'Blog Land,' for a while. All I do lately, is put up a few photos, here and there. I didn't plan on it... It just happened.

And since I don't want anyone to think I got *uppity* or anything, :-) I'm leaving this comment, to explain my absence.

I'm sure to be back in not too long. Can't keep a "Chatty Person" quiet, for too long. :-)

Oh how I love those crepes. I made them the last time you posted the recipe- delicious!
I'm feeling sadness too- because Halle starts 1st grade this year. Now she'll be at school every day of the week. I think I'll recover though!
Wish I was closer to you, because I would love to comiserate together- plus I'd get a first hand taste of your fabulous cooking!

I'll have to check out that website. I'm tired of WW and need some new motivation. Blogland HAS been rather quiet. Guess it's just a busy time of year. I don't have any kids starting kindergarten, but my oldest is away at college for the first time. Change is always hard, but it's so exciting to see them grow and learn.

YUM! I haven't made crepes in so long. I may just have to make them tomorrow.

As for the quiet in blogland I was thinking the same thing....I thought it was just no one wanted to read my blog anymore...LOL just kidding! I think everyone is out enjoying the summer weather.

My niece, that I helped raise, starts high school next week ! Just wait until your little one's are that age. Time goes by to fast. Talk about feeling old.

It is quiet out there - especially among the Mums with young ones starting back at school soon! Here in the UK we only started our school holidays last week and the kids go back in September.

I love those crepes too. I can smell them from here. Sigh. I am also going to have to go on a weight loss programme after all this inactivity. I cannot describe what it has done to my hips. Groan.

Your crepes look yummy, Sandra! I need to learn to make those.

I still have another year to go before Olyvia goes to pre-school. I'm excited about the possibility of some alone time, but dreading the alone time, too.

I went grocery shopping alone the other day and it felt so wierd. I kept thinking about where Olyvia was, etc.

I totally need to checkout SparkPeople.

These photos are lovely, especially the one of all those houses right on the water. Beautiful locale!

You are right about quiet blogosphere....I have only had the chance to be on about two or three times in the last few weeks.....summer pulls us outside that is for sure....

Hi, Sandra,

I'm new to your blog, but I'm a SAHm too, and my youngest is also starting kindergarten on the 18th. We live in the south, Arkansas actually so we usually start later than most. I did a whole post on my blog about my feelings about him starting kindergarten and remarkably, it seemed to give me some peace about it!

I'm enjoying reading your blog, will be back again and hang in there!
