The Simple Woman's Daybook!

Hi everyone, come on in and see what's in my daybook!

If you want to join in, just got visit Peggy over at The Simple Woman, read the guidelines here and then add your name to Mr Linky. There are so many other participants sharing their day, I'm sure you'll enjoy looking through them :)

FOR TODAY
Outside my Window...
bright sunlight, chirping birds on my lemon tree and some cars driving by either on the way to work or home from the end of their shift

I am thinking...
that I'm sick and tired of this cold virus going around, Nicholas is once again at home from school sick. This is ridiculous!

From the learning rooms...
been watching lots of interesting shows on the television...we all actually sat down yesterday and watched one on sharks and saw a shark biopsy being done. It was pretty gross but so neat too. The kids loved it.

I am thankful for...
feeling a million times better since I stopped taking the birth control pill.

From the kitchen...
For breakfast it will be leftover Portuguese Cookie Cake, for lunch I'll probably make some hotdogs for Nicholas and a scrambled egg (he says it's his recipe lol), Dinner will be Sausages in a Tomato and Onion Sauce.

I am wearing...
khaki shorts, blue and white top

I am reading...
The Schoolhouse Brides by by Yvonne Lehman (Author), Colleen L. Reece (Author), Wanda E. Brunstetter (Author), JoAnn A. Grote (Author)

I am hoping...
to get all my floors mopped today, put away the last load of laundry. Also hoping my little one starts feeling better.

I am creating...
a clean and tidy home

I am hearing...
the pugs barking at something out back, Curt ironing his uniform in the kitchen and the sound of the air conditioning.

Around the house...
Pumpkins from our trip to the farm this weekend, living room to be tidied up after the weekend

One of my favorite things...
my husband hugging me when I've had a bad day, it's like I count the minutes for him to walk through the door and when he does everything seems better.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...
I have a doctors appointment on wednesday to get my test results for the cholesterol and diabetes annual testing I do, also getting a referral to get an EKG done of my heart, just as a precaution since there's heart disease in the family.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

Horse Stables at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho. I used to drive by these almost every day and really miss them :)

Sorry about your son being sick again...thats always hard.

I know what you mean about waiting for your husband....that has always been the best part of my day for almost 18 years!

Sorry to hear you and Nicholas are still not feeling well so I will pray for you to get better quick.

Sounds like the book you are reading would be a good one. I love Wanda E Brundstetter, I read all her Amish books. I am obsessed with the Amish, I don't know why. Maybe their simple lifestyle. Simple yet hard.

Sorry to hear that all of you can't seem to get well all at once. We have managed to miss this round of sickness. knock on wood!
I love Wanda Brundstetter. I've started reading her books recently. The library carries them here.

Wow! How delightful to see a blog so beautifully "decked out" for autumn. A real feast for the eyes. :-)

I enjoyed reading your Daybook. Hope you're enjoying "Schoolhouse Brides." I love those collections of novellas like that---they're so cute. I read JoAnn Grote's "Minnesota" stories some time ago and really liked them a lot.

Hope the sickness takes a hike and leaves you and yours alone SOON!

Have a great week!

I hope he feels better soon.

The dinner sounds great. I once had a sausage pie with marinara sauce at a restarant (like 14 years ago!) and I just loved it.

Hope your boy is feeling better! You're pretty lucky to be wearing shorts! We're all bundled up here--cold & rainy today.

So when you want lemon for your tea do you just go pick a lemon?

Hi! It's been too long...I'm so glad I stopped in today--and hope your son is feeling better soon.

I stopped by today to invite you to visit my post today regarding Foster Care. When I have posted before regarding this topic, your compassionate spirit touched my heart! I'm excited to be part of the Blog Tour announcing Margaret Iuculano's new release, My God Box.

Give it a look see when you can.

:) Diane

I'm glad you're feeling better. I like your header, all ready for fall!
Fun autumn pictures too! It's been 88 here every day for a week and I'm ready for something a bit cooler.
