Happy Homemaker Monday

Welcome to my Monday feature, a place where I'll be writing about my day, what I've learned the past week, any new recipes I've tried, scriptures that made an impact and everything else in between.

Every Monday, I will post a Mr Linky, you are more than welcome to join me, all you need to do is grab the button, copy the categories and fill in your answers, then come back here and add your post so that others can come and visit you.

On my bedside table:
The Mighty Queens of Freeville by Amy Dickinson
Little House in the Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder
In the Woods by Tana French

On my TV:
Paranormal State
Lilies (BBC series from Netflix...love them)

On the menu for tonight:
Parmesan Chicken

On my To Do List:
Put away laundry
Iron and put away laundry

New Recipe I tried last week:
Pecan Sticky Muffins

In the craft basket:
Crochet cupcakes - I'm making a few to use as decorations in the kitchen

Looking forward to:
The kids returning to school this week and finally getting over their colds

Homemaking Tip for this week:

If you drop something into a tight corner or down the sink, try reaching it with a crochet hook.

Let the kids help with dusting! Take an old sock and let them use it as a dusting mitt - their little hands can easily get into places like chair railing, wood molding, etc. Plus they have fun doing it.

Favorite Blog Post of the week (mine or other):
Didn't get much blog reading done last week with both kids sick at home....so I'll just throw in my post My Feelings Exactly, just because I love the quote.

Favorite photo from last week:

Lesson learned the past few days:
That no matter how clean you think your house is and no matter how hard you try to disinfect everything around you, you just can't keep your children from getting sick.
It's a part of life, it's a part of growing up and even if it kills you watching them with high fevers and miserable, all you can do is continue to do your best and let the Lord help you take care of the kiddos.

On my Prayer List:
My sweet friend Linds as she heads to the hospital in Bath for all sorts of therapy. Please keep her in your prayers.

Your lessoned learned is so true. As much as we want to project our babies, sickness, heartache and such is part of growing up.

I just checked Lilies on Netflix and it looks really good - I'm adding it to my queue. Did you ever watch The Pallisers?

Have a great week!
