Happy Homemaker Monday

Welcome to my Monday feature, a place where I'll be writing about my day, what I've learned the past week, any new recipes I've tried, scriptures that made an impact and everything else in between.

Every Monday, I will post a Mr Linky, you are more than welcome to join me, all you need to do is grab the button, copy the categories and fill in your answers, then come back here and add your post so that others can come and visit you.

On my bedside table:
Farm Chicks Cookbook
In the Woods by Tana French

On my TV:
Paranormal State
Dancing with the Stars

On the menu for tonight:
Slow Cooker Thai Pork

On my To Do List:
Sweep and Mop floors
Change bed linens
Wash the last load of laundry and put away

New Recipe I tried last week:
Lemon Tea Cookies from the Farm Chicks Cookbook. LOVE them!

In the craft basket:
Crochet cupcakes
Crochet Donut

Looking forward to:
Spending some time working in the backyard....love the spring weather

Homemaking Tip for this week:
One of the best plants you can keep around at home, is medicinal Aloe. I got a really bad sunburn this weekend and applied some Aloe from the plant. Immediate relief and it's so much better today.

Favorite Blog Post of the week (mine or other):
This post "Quiet Online Games for Kids" from Like Merchant Ships. My kids love playing online so I'm always looking for great sites for them.

Favorite photo from last week:

There's nothing I love more than seeing a man in uniform with his children, this one is my favorite from last week. Watching my kids with daddy, asking tons of questions about his jet and getting a tour of every single nook and cranny.

Lesson learned the past few days:
That you don't need to spend money to enjoy yourself. Just stepping out into your backyard for an afternoon with the kids, is a great way to have fun while still being at home. Have a picnic out on the patio, turn on the sprinkler and let the kids play with the water, sit under the trees and read a favorite book.

On my Prayer List:
Soldiers overseas
My family

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:

Love is unselfish,
giving more than it takes,
and no matter what happens,
love never forsakes.
(A Helen Steiner Rice Collection)

"As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you." Joshua 1:5 NIV

Enjoyed your post and photo! Yes, once I get my Home Keeping down on paper I will start sharing my journey. Thank you so much for asking about that. It makes me feel like people actually do care to hear about each others ventures in Keeping their Homes.

Still loving the Homemaker Monday and SCT memes. Thanks for hosting them.

Thank you for your prayers. Grandson is in Germany training for deployment to Afghanistan this summer. I always forget this fun meme, so I am going to make a list of meme's I like to do.

Have a Marvelous Monday

Boy, those two comments before mine are interesting, Sandra. LOL

I love this header! Adorable. And I can see why that photo is your favorite from the week - it's a great photo, as are all the photos you've posted of the air show.

I hope your sunburn is better.

I've been hovering for a while now. How do I join up to do the Happy Homemaker? I can't work out how to grab the button.
