I think we're back on track!

Photobucket

My kiddies went off to school this morning, there was a mixture of excitement and sadness, we all felt like we've had a week off school but didn't get to have any fun or do anything other than lay around drinking tons of fluids and nursing fevers.

But still, I was happy to see them go off, because it made me relax, it made me finally stop and take a deep breath and say "Ok...we're back on track!"

I spent the day cleaning the house, doing laundry and enjoying the quietness that I've so come to love.

I ran errands, I cooked dinner early so that it would be ready in time for Curt to take some to work. These long hours are tough on him and the poor guy hardly has time to eat and if I don't send dinner with him, chances are he will skip it all together and wait until he arrives back home in the wee hours of the morning.

While the house was quiet, I made this little Wishing Well. I had a tiny glass jar where I've been throwing all my pennies and now they'll be used for fun. All I did was take a Mason Jar, fill it with water and added a few drops of blue food coloring, threw in a few coins and set it on the windowsill.

When the kids got home from school, they were so excited to make a wish and they couldn't believe they had their very own wishing well to use whenever they want to.

Tomorrow the kids have early release from school and I have their Parent/Teacher Conference right afterwards. We're also going to check out the school Book Fair while we wait and then we have to run a few errands, so it will be a busy day.

Friday we may head to the Base Air Show Rehearsals, the actual Air Show is not until this weekend but it's going to be absolute pandemonium on base and I think we're better off staying indoors and out of the way.

I'm going to go wash the dinner dishes, tonight we had one of the kid's favorites Cheesy Tuna Casserole...and then we're doing homework, taking baths and sitting down to read from Beatrix Potter's book and the Children's Bible before putting them to bed.

I will probably make some more crochet cupcakes, catch up on my reading and watch American Idol. Which brings me to my question, do you watch American Idol? And if so, who is your favorite this year?

I am absolutely in love with Danny Gokey, but, I also like Lil Rounds.

Anyway, I hope you're having a wonderful Wednesday, I best get to it....see you tomorrow for Slow Cooking Thursday!

I like your clothespin photo! Glad you are back on track too. I've always watched AI but this year it's on the same night as Biggest Loser so I haven't seen it.

I don't watch Idol, but I do watch Dancing with the Stars which is fun. I don't have a favorite on that one yet.

I"m glad things are getting back on track for your family.

Your wishing well is a neat idea.
I've only saw a couple of the Idol shows buy DH is really into it.. I asked him yesterday which one he was rooting for and he said he has two favorites.. a black woman and a man but I can't remember their names.

One of the good things about living on base is that you don't really have to go to the air show.. you can watch it from your backyard!! Your right and it will be crazy this weekend. I love American Idol. That is one of the shows we can all sit and watch as a family. Danny is one of my favorites.

I love to read about your life. I feel like a bloggy Gramma checking things out.

On AI...I haven't quite got the names down but I think the rocker with the crazy hair is really interesting. He sounds and looks like a love child of Elvis and Jim Morrison. I also like Lil. They all seem more talented this year then in years past.

The wishing well is a great idea.

Have a Thankful Thursday

Love the photo at the top.

Glad to hear everyone is on the mend and things are getting back to normal. I'm a routine kind of gal too, and find it hard when routine is interfered with for too long.

Love AI. I really like Danny Gokey, Kris Allen and Matt Giraud. Lil Rounds is really good but I would never buy one of her CD's so I guess I'm going by who's music I would probably buy afterwards. I was sad to see Alexis go. Adam Lambert sorta creeps me out although he is incredibly talented.

As one of my more organized blogging friends, I would love it if you'd join me in my new Organizing Tip Thursday feature. I need to get back on the slow cooker bandwagon, there are several recipes I need to try out and share!
