Happy Homemaker Monday!

hhm

The weather in my neck of the woods:
Cloudy and cold, we have another storm heading in so we're anticipating rain. YAY!

One of my simple pleasures:
Playing board games, dominoes or card games with family

On my bedside table:
The Complete Novels of Jane Austen - My wonderful hubby gave me my very OWN huge copy for Christmas, I'm so happy :)

On my TV:
Stargate SG1 Season 8
Legend of the Seeker Season 2

On the menu for tonight:
Not sure, but definitely something that doesn't include ham LOL

On my To Do List:
Mop and sweep
Laundry
Start pulling down decorations, once Christmas is over I just can't handle seeing everything around, I want it gone. *snicker*

New Recipe I tried last week:
Nothing at all

In the craft basket:
Granny Square blanket

Looking forward to:
Things going back to normal and the holidays being over, as much as I love the holidays, I always eagerly anticipate the normalcy.

Homemaking Tip for this week:
I got nothing....zilch....for some reason I just can't think of one which is ridiculous since I use shortcuts in my every day routine.

Favorite Blog Post of the week (mine or other):
I didn't get to read any blogs last week

Favorite photo from last week:

One of our tree decorations, I just love it :)

Lesson learned the past few days:
That unfortunately far too many people still think of Christmas as a day for exchanging gifts and eating good food. It's sad that the real reason and the meaning behind this special day, goes unnoticed by so many.

On my Prayer List:
Family and Friends

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:
Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
Psalm 90:12

So many times in my life I fill my life with "things" and forget about why I'm actually here...to glorify God! Especially this time of the year when we get so wrapped up in buying gifts, making people happy. Thanks for the reminder. Have a wonderful week.

The Sr. high youth group at our church, will be doing a missions trip to Costa Rica next summer. Come spring they are planning on holding a garage sale as one of their fund raisers. I have quite the stack (six box's so far) to take to their collection spot this week, all of which are items I have gathered up from around the house. Clearing out and helping out - what a wonderful motivating combination!!!

Have a happy Monday!

We've got oodles of snow here.

We have far too much clutter too. I had a clear out of the kids' toys recently and filled quite a few bags.

You should visit my sister's blog. The Written Word, link on my blog. She is a huge Austen fan and is always giving away her things. I think she is having a huge Austin give a way soon.

I know what you mean by having 6 bags of clothes and toys and things to donate. I find this every time I clean out drawers, closets, and rooms in general.

Have a nice holiday with your inlaws.

Sandra, I was looking for an email to write you. I took the liberty of using one of your photos from your food blog for a post I did. I credited you of course as well as the recipe. If you prefer I remove it, please let me know. Thank you!

Glad you all had a wonderful holiday! I agree with Yaya's comments on her blog. Your recipes are wonderful and my family and I really enjoy them.

Have you ever thought of doing a cookbook, maybe even a Portuguese one? I know I'd buy it - probably many others would too.

Happy New Year!
