Happy Homemaker Monday - 01/21/2013

Slept in, so this is going up a little, or a LOT, later than usual.
Hope you've all had a great long weekend and enjoy your Monday.

The Weather:::
41 degrees, and the highs have been 70 the last few days.

Right now I am:
Enjoying a cup of vanilla coffee, chatting with my husband and writing up this post.

Thinking:
Of what I have to get done today, which is everything I put off yesterday.  Ha!

On my reading pile:::
Reading An Amish Kitchen, which I am so enjoying.

On my tv:::
Royal Upstairs Downstairs
Portuguese Soaps

Favorite Blog post this week (mine or other):::
Potato Harvest by Suburban Digs

Something fun to share:::
Ever wanted to know how to build a pizza oven???  I have.  And I found a cute guide on Snapguide, check this out

On the menu for this week:::
Monday - Fettucine Alfredo with homemade fettucine noodles
Tuesday - Roast Chicken, carrots, potatoes
Wednesday - Braised beef cubes with rice
Thursday -   Ham Manicotti (this one has been on the menu for a while now, need to make it)
Friday - Pork Chops with mashed potatoes
Saturday -  A husband's Delight
Sunday -  Slow cooked short ribs

On my to do list:::
Laundry - Ironing, folding, putting away
Vacuum and wash the carpets
Clean out turtle tank

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
Still working on the granny stripe blanket.  Also have some new cotton yarn in fun colors and am trying to decide which is the perfect project for it.

Homemaking Tips:::
Vinegar and Dawn dish soap.  One of my favorite cleaning concoctions, it works wonders for the shower and the bathtub, also great on floors.

Looking around the house:::
There are dishes piled in the sink, X-Box and Wii controllers laying around the living room and 2 baskets of laundry waiting to go in the washer.

From the camera:::

On my prayer list:::
My husband and I.  We are facing some very difficult decisions the next 4 months and really need clarity and help from God to do what is right for us.
My friend Connie's friend Amy who is still in the hospital.

Bible verse, Devotional:::
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. —Psalm 30:5

I remember the wonderful days in AZ when the weather was cold at night but warm during the day. What a wonderful selection of cotton yarn! I am jealous--need to beef up my supply! I know God will provide the perfect situation for you and family in ID. Our go to verse in situations such as yours is Isaiah 40:31, "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." This verse kept us from running ahead of the Lord and to be patient for His leading. You are precious and I am thankful to have found you and your wonderful blog:)

Loved the Amish Kitchen! A lot of choices, but for good reasons - praying the clarity comes to you. <3

Your house sounds just like mine except we have Playstation controllers scattered around instead of Xbox! The laundry, dishes, and Wii controllers are just the same though. Have a good week!

We slept in today too. It was so welcome! LOL
Vinegar is such a lifesaver and is useful for so many things. I just love it.
Prayers are with you and your husband, as well as your friend. :)
