{ Happy Homemaker Monday - 08/11/2014 }

Happy Monday friends :)

I had a wonderful, very busy, and tiring weekend, so I'm actually glad to have the week upon me so that I can catch up on my housework and other things I need to get done around here.

I want to thank you all for the birthday wishes yesterday, it made my day, truly, again thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Now it's time to see what we all have planned for today and the rest of the week.......

Breakfast time....what is on the plate this morning::::
Hot coffee with some Sweet Cream and a slice of Tres Leches Cake.  I don't usually eat cake for breakfast, but it's not too rich and I was craving it, so here we go......

On today's to do list::::
  1. Laundry - Lots of it
  2. Water plants
  3. Sweep and Mop
  4. Menu Plan, grocery list

Currently reading::::
The Queen of Subleties and The Glass Kitchen by Linda Francis Lee.

On the TV today::::
Portuguese Soaps - Beijo do Escorpiao, Mulheres

The weather outside is::::
Sunny.  We had lots and lots of rain last week.  Tuesday and Wednesday we are supposed to get rain again.  I'm just enjoying the cooling down.

On the menu this week::::
Only have meals planned until Thursday as Friday is grocery day for me. I am working on the menu plan today.

Monday - Rissois de Carne (have some pork chops I need to cook and they will be perfect for these)
Tuesday - Oklahoma Fried Burgers, Fries
Wednesday - Grilled Tilapia, Tomato Rice, Cauliflower
Thursday - Five Minute Steak Sandwiches, Salad
Friday -  *Grocery shopping*
Saturday -
Sunday -

If I have a few minutes to myself, I will::::
Actually sit down and take a break, I've been on the go since Saturday morning and I'm quite tired.  Today will be another busy one as I catch up on housework, so if I get a little break, I will be on the couch with a cup of tea and a book.

New recipe I tried, or want to try this week::::
This week I'll be trying the Oklahoma Fried Burgers and the Five Minute Steak Sandwiches, will post recipes to the food blog once they're done.

In the garden::::
A little irritated, I moved my big planter outside with the spinach and lettuce, and now everything is wilting.  I am going to move it all back in to the kitchen again where they seemed to be thriving and happy.

Favorite photo from the camera::::
Change of plans, we spent my birthday at Pine, Idaho. Beautiful, picturesque, Pine. I will be doing another post this morning showing you where we went.

Homemaking Tip::::
I drink a lot of tea and therefore a lot of my favorite mugs are getting discolored.  To clean them up and remove that discoloration, I always use a paste of baking soda and water, it works for me.

Visiting with Blog friends (blog you want to share, blog post that caught your eye)::::
It has been such a pleasure going back through the archives and reading through my old posts.  I was such a different person back then, obviously, I was much younger, but it's fun to go back and see what we were doing.
Also enjoying some great blogs, like Just Pootling, Above the River and Andamento.

Praying for::::
Family and friends.
For myself, as I continue on this spiritual journey and growth

Bible Verse, Devotional that is resonating with me at the moment::::

PLEASE, don't add links to this list that are not part of the Happy Homemaker Monday. I've asked numerous times, and I'm frankly quite tired of having to remove links to other posts that shouldn't be in this list. Please be respectful of my request!

What a beautiful photo of the mountains that is!

I kind of laughed when you said you are enjoying the cool down. I look at your temperatures for the week and see 99 degrees. A cool down here is the 70's.

Spiritual growth is amazing! I'm praying as you go through this journey.

Sounds like a busy week, but good. I missed out on linking in, but will try another time. I'm busy canning in the kitchen today.

That picture is gorgeous! Tres Leches and coffee YES PLEASE!
Totally intrigued about the 5 minute steak sandwiches. We have had thunder and lightning with serious hot winds blowing here in OR.

Happy late birthday.

I can't wait to see the recipes they sound really good.

We are getting all the rain today, which wasn't supposed to happen but with it temperatures have dropped and that I'll take any day.

I really need a slow week, hoping I get one soon.

Have a great one!

That photo is AMAZING!
Happy Birthday a couple of days late.
I think I'm going to take what you are doing as inspiration and go back to the beginning of my blog and start reading. I want to see where I came from before our lives got so busy with school and a traveling husband, and sports.
