I get best sellers and random books at the library that I can't download from their digital system. A month or two ago, I downloaded Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella. I always thought her Shopaholic books were cute and had enjoyed one or two other of her standalone books too. But, this one, I hated. Absolutely hated. I don't think I will read another one by her now. I hope it works out better for you! Oh, and I'd be happy to hear how you like Tapestry of Fortunes. I've read, and enjoyed, a couple of Berg books in the past, but haven't read that one yet.

Happy Reading Sandra!Stacy at Exceedingly Mundanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10193142015462051142noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6271473.post-26964012471498918342013-08-19T11:47:45.015-05:002013-08-19T11:47:45.015-05:00I love the books. The have a cat in the store which the kids love and I love the prices, and the smell of books. I bought a bunch of books. 4 of the 5 were from the Dear America series but mine are the Royal Diaries. The one I'm devouring right now is called Eleanor: Crown Jewel of Aquitaine, about a daughter of a Duke in France in 1136. It's so interesting.

I love Sophie Kinsella. I've read and own many of her books. I haven't read the book you got though. You'll have to let me know if it's any good.

Happy reading!Lizhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09791408808472762904noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6271473.post-75665468644851361082013-08-19T10:52:37.705-05:002013-08-19T10:52:37.705-05:00Oh, you and me are so alike in this regard. I can never leave with just one and usually take way more than I can finish in the allotted time.

I am definitely a fiction gal. I rarely make it totally through a non-fiction unless it's an autobiography. Right now I'm reading "The Chance" by Karen Kingsbury. One of my favorite authors is Charles Martin but his are definitely more contemporary stories and I know you like historical. Sandra Dallas writes wonderful historical fiction usually set in Colorado. She's another favorite author of mine. "Prayers for Sale", "Tallgrass" and "Whiter than Snow" are some of my faves from her. I've really like Rosslyn Elliot's Saddler's Legacy Series. I think you might like that, too. I...I love mysteries and detective or spy thrillers. I too have always felt at home in a library, and as a child would go there and gather up new treasures to while away my spare time in. I enjoy all sorts of subjects, including non-fiction ones, I used to love horror and sci fi, but back in 2006, when my husband passed away, and I went out to Michigan to stay with my daughter for a time, I picked up an English detective novel, and got hooked. I just don't have it in me to read horror any longer. Brad Thor's thrillers revolve around a character named Scot Horvarth who is a former Navy Seal who works for a security company. The Longmire mysteries is written by Craig Johnson and revolve around a Wyoming sheriff and the crime cases he solves in the small, but interesting town he lives in. A tv series, has been made of the novels. The most recent cookbook I took out, is titled Delicious Dishes for Diabetics, now, I"m not a diabetic, but was fascinated when I read about the cookbook, which is comprised of mostly Mediterranean inspired recipes, by the English actor Robin Ellis, who starred as Ross Poldark in the BBC's Poldark saga, set in the late 1700s in Cornwall England.

Hope things are improving out there in Idaho, I read that the fire services are getting more of the upper hand on the fires. Hope all are well.Maryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09190709335203893977noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6271473.post-54649056895817441352013-08-17T21:51:14.247-05:002013-08-17T21:51:14.247-05:00I am stuck in a non-fiction loop this year. I love Sophie Kinsella - her books make me laugh outloud and I sure enjoy that! Will look for this new one. Hoping the wildfires in your area are under control very soon! Enjoy your books and have a peaceful and pleasant Sunday! It was a show about nature and crafting, I just loved it.

On one episode the host, Miss Jean showed the audience how to make homemade root beer, and I had to give it a whirl. Well, I enlisted my grandpa's help, and after buying the supplies we made a batch... that started exploding in it's bottles in the basement either the same night or the next day. The cleanup was enough to put me off ever trying to do that again.Maryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09190709335203893977noreply@blogger.com
