I start thinking back to when my children were little (teenagers here also)and become overwhelmed with emotion. I start thinking it would be nice to have little ones again....then I go visit my sister. She has an 8 month old and a 3 year old. It is at that very moment I realize I LOVE where I'm at. It's not easy raising teens. It's even harder (in my opinion)to have the little ones.

Believe it or not I often miss our very small 700 square foot home. Why?! Because it was where we first lived as a married couple. It's where we became a family. It's where I grew to love being a homemaker. Where I enjoyed gardening. So many memories.

God gives us stages in life to help mold us into the person He wants. Spiritually speaking I would not want to go back to my "little" house. I am SO much more mature in Christ today then I was 2 years ago.

Love you my sweet friend. Still, each time I begin a new season I'm filled with nostalgia, just as you described. There's no going back, so we've gotta enjoy the "now", just as you said.Sweet Teahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15614958513434632328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6271473.post-11249862733820659272014-02-23T18:19:24.988-06:002014-02-23T18:19:24.988-06:00I can't say that I've ever heard anyone wa...I can't say that I've ever heard anyone wax so poetically about military housing or the commissary, but I'm so happy you're home and enjoying all your memories even though some may choke you up a bit. Some of the bases aren't even bases any more. I too am getting more emotional as I get older, but as you said, it is best to focus on the happy memories and joy of the past than to be sad that those days are gone. When I am feeling that way, I try to say to myself, "the best is yet to come!" Thanks for this post and have a great Sunday!Deb J. in Utahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14424364735834182330noreply@blogger.com
