Tips on Tuesday!

So I've decided to come up with a new little feature here on my blog. As a mother and a wife, there's certain tips and shortcuts on homemaking, decorating, car repair and whatnot, that I've learned throughout my life. Some from personal experience, some from my husband, some from the wonderful women in my family and others from friends and even the internet.

Tuesdays are the one day during the week that I don't really have a feature going on, nothing that I participate in. So I'm starting this one for myself and every Tuesday I will post a tip for you.

If you want to join in, you can and I would love it too, you can post a tip about anything, cooking, cleaning, homemaking, kids, marriage, travel....whatever you wish.

Here's some Fall Tips for your home:

Newly picked gourds will stay colorful much longer if they're washed in a mild (10%) bleach solution and air dried.

Use a linoleum craft knife to carve swirling designs in pumpkins.
Since only the outer surface is carved, there's no need to hollow out the pumpkins...so easy!

Pack away summer linens with sachets so they'll be fragrant when unpacked in the spring.
Place a spoonful of dried lavender on a pinked square of pretty fabric, gather into a bundle and tie with a satin bow. So Sweet!
