The Simple Woman's Daybook!

Hi everyone, come on in and see what's in my daybook!

If you want to join in, just go visit Peggy over at The Simple Woman, read the guidelines here and then add your name to Mr Linky. There are so many other participants sharing their day, I'm sure you'll enjoy looking through them :)

FOR TODAY
Outside my Window...
a chill in the air....it's pretty nippy out there, goodness. The rain stopped but there's that scent in the air, that wet earth delicious scent which I just love.

I am thinking...
that it feels wonderful to have the whole house to myself, Curt is back at work, the kids are back at school and it's just me and the girls (pugs). It feels good!

From the learning rooms...
nothing this week

I am thankful for...
a New Year, a new opportunity to better myself, to close the gap between me and God. For me there's nothing better than knowing that I have 12 months ahead, still new and still waiting for me to make the most of them.

From the kitchen...
For breakfast toasted bagels with Whipped Berry Cream Cheese, Lunch for myself will probably be a Grilled Cheese and Tomato sandwich and dinner is Creamy Oven Chicken Breasts with Garlic Mashed Potatoes.

I am wearing...
Jeans and a pink tank top, slippers. The minute I walk in the door, my shoes go off and I slip into my comfy slippers, I just love it.

I am reading...
Just finished The Redbird Christmas by Fannie Flagg and loved it, it was such a wonderful Christmas book, full of love and family and second changes. I've started The Forbidden by Beverly Lewis and I have book #2 and book #3 also waiting to be read.

I am hoping...
to get a good cleaning on this house today. With everyone gone, I'll be tidying up the living room and putting away all the toys and games that have accumulated from the past week of having the whole family home. I'll be putting away laundry, scrubbing toilets, washing all the little rugs around the house, cleaning the bedrooms and sweeping and mopping all the floors. I'll be really busy for the next few hours but I can't wait to have my house back to normal.

I am creating...
a knitted shrug for myself and a knitted blanket too.

I am hearing...
the heater just coming on, my computer tv tuned to Sonoran Living and the pugs snoring on the couch.

Around the house...
Games, Toys, cluttered computer desks, laundry baskets waiting to be emptied and beds that need to be made.

One of my favorite things...
Sitting down to dinner with the family, talking about the day, laughing and joking and enjoying a home cooked delicious meal.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...
I have to make a run to the BX later today to pick up birthday cards for the family in South Africa who is celebrating this month and next. Other than that, absolutely nothing, just getting back into the groove of normal schedules after all the holidays.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

Curtis snapped this photo of me and I just love it, because this is who I am, this is what you will most likely see every single day. Me.....puttering around the kitchen.

  1. As much as I loved the holidays, and having everyone at home, and no real routine, I am glad to get back onto a regular schedule again.

    Have a great week,
    Pamela
