Slow Cooking Thursday!

As always, share your slow cooking recipes but if you REALLY REALLY don't have one and still want to participate, then you can share any kind of recipe.

World's Best Chili Verde

RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
3 lb. boneless pork roast, cut into 1 inch cubes
1 1/2 bell peppers, chopped
2 large garlic cloves, minced
2 cans tomato sauce
1 7-oz. can green chilies, chopped
2 medium onions, chopped coarse
1 tsp. chili powder
2 tsp. ground cumin
1/4 cup lemon juice
3/4 cup beef broth
2 tsp. salt to taste
2 jalapeƱos, chopped fine (optional)
1. Combine all ingredients in a crockpot. Mix. Cook on low for 8 to 9 hours. Serve with flour tortillas, shredded cheese, sour cream, and guacamole.

  12. Two years ago I discovered crockpot cooking. How I lived without this kitchen pot I will never know. going over to make good on a recipe.

  13. Sausage and Peppers! I just made this yesterday
    2 lbs sweet or hot italian sausage
    2 yellow onions chopped
    1 green bell pepper cut up
    1 red bell pepper cut up
    1 yellow bell pepper cut up
    2 bay leaves
    4 cloves of garlic minced
    14 oz can diced tomatoes undrained
    6 oz can tomato paste
    1/2 cup dry red wine or water
    1 tbsp dried parsley
    1/2 tsp oregano
    1/2 tsp basil
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/8 tsp pepper

    Poke hole in sausage and boil for 20 mins
    layer half of the onions on bottom of crock pot, then add half of the peppers. Add the sausage then the rest of the onions and peppers. Add bay leaves and garlic.
    Combine diced tomatoes, tomato paste and red wine in small bowl and mix well to blend. Pour over mixture in crock pot. Cover slow cooker and cook on low for 6 hours.
    One hour before mixture is done, mix together parsley, basil, oregano and salt and pepper. Add to crock pot and stir well. Cover and cook for 1 more hour.
    Serves 8

  17. Hi Sandra....haven't been by for I can't remember how long. Life gets complicated around hre and I'm so getting ready to retire from 30 years of teaching school...nuf said. My DH loves Chili Verde and I've never been able to find the just right recipe for it...I trust you completely and this will be on this weeks menu.
