The weather in my neck of the woods:
It's a blue sky with not a cloud in sight and feeling pretty hot already even though it's only 7:30 am.
One of my simple pleasures:
Taking a long hot bath with the lights off and only illuminated by candlelight.
On my bedside table:
Wizard's First Rule - Need to finish this one
Return to Sullivan's Island - just finished it and think it's a great summer read, you can read my review here.
Blue like Play Dough - can't wait to start on this one
On my TV:
Paranormal State tonight
Phoebe in Wonderland - started this one yesterday but didn't finish it, not quite sure if I like this movie
On the menu for tonight:
Slow Cooker Chicken Curry
On my To Do List:
Laundry
Sweep and Mop the floors
Make cookies for the cookie jar
New Recipe I tried last week:
Nothing new last week, was still on vacation
In the craft basket:
Finishing up my crochet bag
Looking forward to:
Visiting the Pioneer Living History Museum here in Arizona
Homemaking Tip for this week:
Every two weeks or so I rotate the appliances on my counter tops, I actually take out one from my pantry and set it on the counter, if I see it, then I'll use it. You know how you have tons of great stuff like the Foreman Grill, Rotisserie etc but never use it because it's packed away?
Well this way, I see it and I make sure to plan my menus around it.
Favorite Blog Post of the week (mine or other):
Bonnie's post yesterday just cracked me up, I think if we were ever to meet we would have a blast OR end up in jail or something LOL
Favorite photo from last week:
This old wagon from the early days we saw up at Geronimo, AZ. I just love it!
Lesson learned the past few days:
That your home is your sanctuary, that no matter how far you may go, there is NOTHING like returning to your safe place.
On my Prayer List:
My children and husband
My family
My bloggy friends
Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well.
1 John 5:1
I can't wait to see pictures from the museum! In a little over a year we are driving to AZ for hubby's college graduation and are stopping at many sites across the US. Many "Little House" sites. I can not wait. I'm going to try and make the bag.
ReplyDeleteYou are right. Much as you enjoy vacation, there is no place like home and if that isn't true, you need to find a place where you are 'at home'.
ReplyDeleteLove the picture of the buckboard.
Great homemaking tip about the appliances. Ironically, I just did some "spring cleaning" under my kitchen cabinets and cleared off some countertop space. I put out the stand mixer and can not believe how much I have been using it since dusting off the cobwebs! Great idea about rotating them...my foreman hasn't seen the light of day in months!
ReplyDeleteThe wagon reminds me of ones we saw at the Stuhr museum on our recent vacation to Nebraska.
ReplyDeleteSo much history and stories resembled in them!
Love your homemaking tip!
ReplyDeleteI am not sure how to join in the Happy Homemaker Monday. I would like to join doing this. Please can you explain. I am learning yet. Thank you
ReplyDeleteYou know I forget to take a bath....by candle light that is!!! I never think to do such a relaxing thing! I love the bag you've made. Wish I could crochet...then I could have a craft basket!!!
ReplyDeleteHi again!
ReplyDeleteWe went to the Hualapai Mountains (near Kingman)- it's about an hour from us (we're in Lake Havasu).
Ha ha ... end up in jail or something ! That is hilarious !! (but quite possibly true !! ) :) That wagon is so cool ! I'm going to have to investigate and see what sort of "pioneery" things might be around this area ...
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday ! Although, it's Tuesday morning here !! :)
My first time to participate in the Happy Homemaker Monday feature and to visit your blog. I plan to return when I have more time. Thanks for sharing you day.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Elizabeth
Hi Sandra,
ReplyDeleteI am finally getting a chance to catch up with you. I have missed our visits. Dave is really sick so I have been very busy.
Hugs,
