Because the only kind worth having, is the one made at home......
And because I like knowing that what I make at home is free of preservatives and all the other nasty stuff...
Homemade Maple Syrup
1-3/4 c white sugar
1/4 c brown sugar1 c water
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract1/2 tsp. maple extract
Mix the white and brown sugar with the water, bring to a boil.
Cover and cook for about a minute.
Add the vanilla and maple, mix well and let cool.
This syrup does not need refrigeration. I just use a cute little glass bottle for mine.
I would love to know how you make your Maple Syrup.
ReplyDeleteI love that you have posted this recipe. This is the homemade syrup my mother used to make when I was young, and I am so glad I found your blog. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI would like to suggest that you rename your recipe though to 'Homemade Maple Flavored Syrup', as I have lived in Maine for the last 21 years, and Homemade Maple Syrup starts with tapping a maple tree in your yard.
