We need to pray
I have such a heavy heart right now, and have had this feeling for the past few days.
It doesn't matter if I agree or disagree with the government. It doesn't matter whether I think that so and so is doing right or wrong.
What matters, is that our country needs prayer, and it needs it NOW and it needs it constantly.
I really never get involved in politics, or mention anything related on my blog, but the events of the past week have made my heart hurt.
Killing is never the answer. It's never acceptable, no matter what anyone says or what excuses they may use to justify their actions.
More and more, I feel that our country is drifting further and further away from God and from prayer and as a Christian it's heartbreaking to see.
I'm not a US Citizen as many of you know, but I have called this beautiful country my home for over 14 years. My children were born here, my husband was born here and I love this country with all my heart.
So please, it doesn't matter what political party you are for or against. If you are a Christian, pray. Pray, pray, pray again and keep praying.
Pray that the violence directed at Americans ceases.
Pray that the men and women in our military are safe.
Pray for this country.
I think we need God now more than ever. We needs His guidance and His comfort to get us through these tough times.
Again, I know that this isn't my usual post, but it's been weighing very heavy on me and I felt that I needed to write this down.
God Bless,
I think God is putting this message on many peoples heart. It's been on mine, I've read it on a few other blog and I've heard others talk about it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting it!
Thanks for reminding us we need to pray more for our nation & leaders...will make it a practice..

ReplyDeletenot only America, but Canada too. The world needs lots of prayers, I agree. <3
ReplyDeleteAmen!! Such a sad week for our country
ReplyDeleteagree as well!!! as a naturalized american citizen, I am even prouder to be an american because it was a privilege I was not born into but was accepted into. I love this country.
ReplyDeleteThe whole world needs prayer. Things may get worse in this country and believers need God's strength and peace as we live each day. This country was founded on 'in God we trust'. It is falling apart because of leaving that trust in God and thinking man can handle things without Him.
