Feel free to use :)
My word it was hard getting up this morning. I love breaks and holidays but it's so hard going back to an alarm clock after almost a week of sleeping in.
But, oh well, time to get back into our routine right??
The Weather:::
We've been in the 80's all week. Not even kidding. Wish I was because honestly, this place gives me hives with it's weather patterns. For a girl who was used to four seasons, I can tell you that I'm STILL not used to this Arizona weather, doubt I'll ever be.
Right now I am:
Trying to fully wake up while watching hubby getting ready for his PT test.
Thinking:
That I would much rather be in my warm comfy bed. Why does it always feel that the best sleep is the one in the early morning hours when you have to get up? Haha
On my reading pile:::
Have a ton of new books on my Kindle, not even sure which one to read first. But currently, I am reading Livvie's Song by Sharlene MacLaren.
In the magazine department I'm looking through the new Crochet Today, Yummy and Woolworth's Australian Good Taste.
In the cookbook department, been grabbing some recipes from the Slow Cooker Bible and Sophie Dahl's Voluptuous Delights.
On my tv:::
Revolution tonight with the hubby.
Nothing else that I can think of.
On the menu for this week:::
Will be grocery shopping on Friday and haven't made up the new menus yet, so I'm leaving those 3 days empty for now.
Monday - Shepherd's Pie
Tuesday - Vegetable Soup, Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
Wednesday - Grilled Tilapia, Tomato Rice, Salad
Thursday - Homemade Pizza
Friday -
Saturday -
Sunday -
On my to do list:::
Homeschooling
Baking for Christmas gifts
Normal homemaking (bathrooms, bedrooms, vacuuming etc)
What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
Planning on getting my housework taken care of this morning, so I can finally sew my quilt blocks for the top.
Also have one dishcloth on the knitting needles, that is almost finished, so going to finish that one and start another.
Homemaking Tips:::
This holiday season, think about homemade. There's nothing better than receiving a package in the mail with homemade goodies from a family member or friend. Take a day or two to bake everything, package it and mail it off. OR if you crochet or knit, think about small gifts that you can quickly whip up to send off.
Looking around the house:::
Very quiet right now. My husband has left for his PT test. As usual, the kids are still asleep, so it's just me. I'm watching the news on TVI (Portuguese Channel) while I type this up and enjoy my coffee.
From the camera:::
Wildlife World Zoo
On my prayer list:::
Still praying for my friend Nancy's husband as he recovers from heart surgery.
Praying for all those families in the UK who are currently affected by the flooding, hoping everyone stays safe.
Bible verse, Devotional:::
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11
I always wonder that about sleep too. And though we didn't have a holiday, just the normal weekend, it was still mighty hard getting up! For me it's getting up in the dark that is so difficult.
ReplyDeleteI hate having to get up in the morning too.... especially when it's cold outside.
ReplyDeleteThe passed two years have pretty much been a homemade Christmas for us. Now that I have found Pinterest I can see it becoming even more homemade!
Your menu looks so yummy :)
I'm with you on the change of seasons, it is what is best about living in New England. Homemade gifts are the best kind. Looking forward to seeing you creations!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely thinking HOME MADE this Christmas season ... until hubby gets established in a job again, we're on the frugal track, and I'm hoping it will stick even after he gets a job!
ReplyDeleteI ignore mornings ... but of course, that finds me working and up until late into the night - but that's how we night owls roll! :)
Have a GREAT week - best wishes to your hubby for his PT test (mine hated them - and thanks to his ankle will never again have one as he can't join the Reserves now).
I love reading your list every week but it's been a while since I linked. It's good to be back!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to peruse your old posts for some homemade gift ideas. I gave your lemon hand scrub last year and everyone loved it. Thanks for all your creativity.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of homemade gifts! That would be at the top of the list of things I would like to receive. My mom used to give items that she crocheted, knitted or sewed and they were wonderful. She quit doing that about 10 years ago and I miss it.
ReplyDeleteI'm crocheting gifts for family and giving goodies to close friends. I love homemade gifts it brings out the spirit of Christmas. Thank you for sharing
