It's time
Folks, I'm so over the holiday season, I can't even being to tell you. It's time. That's all...it's just time to move onto a new year, and to leave the last one behind.
I have to be honest, I'm feeling like I'm at the end of my rope and needing the holiday season over with, and that includes all the food, and the laziness, no schedules and flying by the seat of our pants.
I am really eager to get back into our routines and eating healthier.
Tomorrow is it. Back to work for hubby, homeschooling picking back up and our normal day to day busy lives.
Don't get me wrong, I do love the holidays and there's nothing like having everyone home and watching movies and favorite shows whenever we feel like it....wearing pj's way past lunch time.....snacking constantly on all sorts of desserts and not having to worry about being anywhere on time.
But really, after a few weeks, I start getting antsy and that's where I'm at right now.
Up bright and early tomorrow, 5AM comes around way too quickly, but it will be nice to enjoy a cup of coffee and some quiet time before the whole house stirs, then there's lots of organizing and cleaning to get through.
So how did I spend my Sunday.......
Started the day with some fresh homemade donuts, these are delicious and if you like Krispy Kreme you'll enjoy these. Ruth's Donuts
A little knitting
that culminated in these adorable wrist warmers
Some dusting here and there
Putting up of the new calendar
Sitting down to a maple glazed donut and a cup of coffee in the afternoon
Dinner prepping
We love casseroles
And if you have a pizza loving family, then they would love this Biscuit Pizza Bake.
I also watched the new episode of the period drama series Mr. Selfridge which premiered on the ITV channel in the UK. I really enjoyed the first one, it was very reminiscent of The Paradise on BBC.
Oh and if you haven't yet watched World Without End, it is now available on Netflix.
I'm off to see if I can find some more Kindle books for my reader, and then calling it a very early night. Will be back bright and early with our Happy Homemaker Monday, see you then :)
I totally know what you mean about being ready for the holidays to be over! I'm right there with ya! Also I NEED those wrist warmers! They are super cute and would come very handy at work.
ReplyDeleteYup, back to routine here tomorrow too! Love the wristwarmers!
ReplyDeleteI am right there with you!! Tomorrow we will be back to our normal routine as well. I say bring it on!
ReplyDeleteI am with you on this. Megan went back to school this morning and I am ready to get back into my routine. I am going to whip this place in shape and enjoy my simple, normal life!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you I do love the holidays but I'm always glad to get back to "normal", what ever normal means :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes, we LOVE Krispy Kreme donuts, I'm definitely going to try Ruth's Donuts.
I completely understand! David arrived home on R&R on Dec 11, then the kids out of school, Katie, Matthew and Maddie staying a week with us.... WHEW! I am ready for solid predictability again :-)
