Oh what a ride it's been with this child LOL
14 years ago, I was a young newlywed, giving birth to my first child. It was such a scary experience and nothing with that birth went right, I was exhausted by the time she came out, but what joy to see that beautiful little face.
And now here we are, with a 14 year old. This quirky, independent, self assured, strong personality, hilarious girl.
It's not always easy, but then I think any mom with a teenager knows that. I can't even begin to let myself think that in just 2 years she'll be driving.....oh boy.
I wouldn't have it any other way though, I think my husband and I are extremely blessed with the beautiful, smart children we have.
So I wish my daughter nothing but the best in life. I can't wait to go along on this ride, to embark on this new journey as she continues to grow into a beautiful young lady, as we get ready to start High School and are faced with so many new adventures.
Happy Birthday Jasmine, we love you so much and are so very proud of you.
Here's a picture of her cake, this cake that made me miss out on Cooking Thursday, and has been giving me headaches for the past 3 days as batch after batch of modeling chocolate and fondant went into the trash.
After hours of working on it, it is still not right, the Arizona heat is horrible for fondant. The minute the panels went on the cake they started drooping and pulling in all directions.
The result is a pretty wonky Tardis, but you know what? Jasmine LOVES and I mean LOVES her cake, and that is more than enough for me :)
That is so neat! Great job! Happy Birthday to your gal.
ReplyDeleteSuch a creative cake (even with droopy fondant! I love to bake, but my cakes are two layers with simple frosting. I guess when I have kids I may have to expand my repertoire.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! My daughter has a large cardboard cutout in her bedroom of the tardis. If I would make her a cake like that...she would be thrilled...you are a good mom!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Jasmine! I love the Tardis and the Adipose is just perfect!
ReplyDeleteHappy Happy Birthday, Jasmine!! WOW, what a cake, so realistic that it might 'disappear' soon, and not by being eaten..silly ol' TARDIS can't ever stay in one place for long! Hope your day was fantastic and that your year is filled with laughter and good times.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your sweet Jasmine, such a pretty young lady!
ReplyDeleteYour cake is a perfect 'labor' of love and she knows what went into it, so it is sweeter than any other cake would be, I'm sure. xo
Happy birthday to your pretty girl! What a cool cake! :)
ReplyDeleteTammy
I'm realizing now that this cake is upright, not laying down, which is really, really impressive!
ReplyDeleteMANY HAPPY RETURNS OF THE DAY..TO JASMINE..
ReplyDeleteMAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
p.s..I told my daughter about the cake, and your son's arm markings...and she said (besides loving the cake)...regarding the arm markings...oh...that is scarey! I didn't really understand her explanation...ha...but she said that is really scarey.
ReplyDeleteI think you did a fabulous job! The cake looks great. Happy Birthday to Jasmine!
ReplyDeleteBeing droopy gives it character.
