Happy Monday :)
The cold that everyone had, has been circling me for a while and I had been able to avoid it, but unfortunately last night it caught up with me. I have neither the patience nor the time for being sick, but I am thankful that I have family near me now that I can turn to for help.
Alrighty, on to today's Happy Homemaker Monday.....oh and I've decided to change the categories around a little. If you've already written yours up for today then don't worry about it, but if you wish, you can try the new ones as well. I figured it was time to change it up slightly just for fun :)
As I look outside my window:::
Cloudy, cold and foggy. A few minutes ago I could see the mountains but I can no longer see them. Seems we got some rain last night and have more headed our way. 44 degrees is the temperature at the moment.
Right now I am:::
Sitting on my bed and typing up this post, while hubby is sitting at his computer and typing up an essay for one of his college classes. I have my Kleenex box next to me and a hot cup of coffee.
Thinking and pondering:::
On life and marriage and how truly difficult it is at times. You have to work very hard and smile through a lot of things that you often don't like or agree with. I've learned through my many years of marriage to sometimes say I understand when I really don't, and to pick my battles. Some things are not worth fighting over, and other things are worth fighting for.
On my bedside table:::
Westward Hearts by Melody Carlson (Homeward on the Oregon Trail #1)
A Home at Trail's End by Melody Carlson (Homeward on the Oregon Trail #3)
I couldn't find the second book at the library and though I usually hate reading books out of order, I'm just going to go with it and pretend it's not missing.
On my tv tonight:::
Last night's Downton Abbey
The Paradise Season 2
Playing on the radio:::
Spoken for by MercyMe

Carving Pumpkins with the kids today

My simple pleasure:::
A hot cup of coffee with delicious creamer and some Almond Cinnamon Cookies
Lesson learned the past week:::
Oh boy, it's been a very emotional, difficult week for the hubby and I. We are struggling right now
with all the new adjustments and finding it hard to stay focused. We both know that we need to listen to God and figure out what He is trying to teach us right now as it will be the only way we can get through it.
Looking around the house:::
More like looking around the bedroom. Lola is fast asleep on the bed next to me, wrapped in her blanket. Hubby is working on some schooling and Bella is at his feet sleeping. I have two baskets of laundry to put away, and one load to iron, and at the moment they are at the foot of the bed.
From the camera:::
My tree has now lost all it's leaves, but the birds love perching on it's branches while the sun is rising.
On my prayer list:::
My husband and I as we get through this difficult phase.
Friends going through a divorce.
Bible verse, Devotional:::
Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.
—Ephesians 6:11
Praying for you as you go through a period of adjustment ... It is always good to know this too shall pass, and one day (soon!) you will be on the other side of things. :) Keep doing what you are doing, mostly, trusting GOD!
ReplyDeletethat series looks interesting. I'm going to see if they are available from the Kansas Library Card for my kindle.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week Sandra!
Praying for you and your husband in this time of adjustment.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I are also going through some adjustments in our life that has not made things easy on us.
But God has his hand in ours always, so we are never alone. It's something I often forget myself, especially when the lonely despairing times come.
I pray that this time passes quickly and things get better for you both soon.
I love your new categories, and your photograph is exquisite! I am sorry for the struggles you are facing right now and will be praying for you both to get through as quickly as God will allow. Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteThe picture with the birds in the tree is beautiful and eerie. I love it.
ReplyDeleteI definitely know what you mean about picking battles in marriage. I think it's something I'm still learning as we go. I've been married to my husband for almost 6 years now, but this year has been the hardest. I'm learning that there will always be ebbs and flows. Hang in there. Things will get easier eventually.
The way you described your house, sounds exactly like mine. Tis the life of a hs'ing family isn't it? lol! You're very right on marriage, pick your battles carefully! :)
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you've come down with the sickness...I know you will fight it hard, but DO take time to rest when you can because that is one of the great healing prescriptions :-) I know the stress right now with all these changes is pretty intense, but you are a strong woman with a deep faith. Marriage is difficult, especially as the years go by. Sometimes rocky, sometimes rosy; I've had to learn to pick my fights, too, and turn away even when I want to express my opinion loudly! That's a hard part for me.
ReplyDeleteYour new blog header is gorgeous!! You're living in a wonderful area...the silloetted tree and birds roosting is like a photo from a magazine :-)
Take care,
Elizabeth from Mississippi
P.S. My robot word is Herevn...really close to Heaven, eh?!
You change your blog header more than anyone I know! And they are all gorgeous! So sorry you are sick...I went through that about a month ago and am still not "right"! I will be praying for you and your husband. With all of the adjustments you have been forced to make recently, it's no wonder. God is good and I know you will weather this storm with His help.
ReplyDeleteKeeping you all in my prayers. Love hearing about your day and your pictures! Get well soon!
ReplyDeletePraying and hoping things get better between you and your husband. You've had quite the life change recently and I can't imagine it's easy on either of you. Hang in there. It's good that you both are leaning towards God with this ... He will help you get through it all.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous picture! You're up that early to take it?
ReplyDeletePraying for you guys. You've had a lot going on in the last year that would put stress on every area of your life. Hang in there and walk through it with the Lord. It might not be easy but God is with you every step of the way.
