{ Almost wet my pants }

Not really, but almost.

So picture this, I'm outside doing yard work, I have the tiller in my hand and I'm literally stabbing the dirt and turning and twisting and pulling and so on.  We're trying to clear out the flower bed outside our front windows so we can plant some flowers.

I stab the thing into the ground and something jumps and scurries a few feet away.  I swear I made the weirdest sound ever, it wasn't a scream, it wasn't a shout, it was a half moan, half "oh dear God I'm going to die", kind of thing.

Then I see it.

Meet Mister *I'll make you wet your pants in fear*.

I mean, really.  He is pretty adorable though and he just sat there and let me take photos, which is always a plus for me.

And now take a look at my gorgeous handsome boy.  I am so in love with this dog.  He has helped me heal from Lola's passing, even though I miss her every single day, think about her, dream about her.   But he came in like a hurricane, and slammed straight into my heart and I love him so very much.

I didn't think I would love another pet so much, and not to say he will ever take Lola's place, don't think anyone or anything ever can, but he's pretty close up there for me.

I've also gotten quite a few more amazing books.  I started this one yesterday, and it's for another review coming up for TLC.  How beautiful is that cover?  I could easily live there :)

Slowly chugging along with Part 8 of the Atlanticus.

Cindy Woodsmall, another author I really enjoy, because, well, Amish.  I know this is book 3 in the series but I'm pretty sure it won't be a problem, and if anything it will make me want to go hunt down the other two previous ones to read.

Then I went to grab the mail and two more packages had come in.  Now these two I was really excited about because I ordered them two days ago when Amazon was having a sale.

You've no doubt heard me talk about These Is My Words from Nancy E. Turner.   When I first read it, I couldn't put it down and I knew that I had just fallen in love with a book author and that everything I could get my hands on from her, I had to.

So I quickly got the other two books in the series, which were The Star Garden and Sarah's Quilt.  I loved them just as much as the first book.  Through the years I've given away some of my huge book collection, especially when we did our move across States.  If you've ever had to move, you know how heavy books are.

July 12, 2017

But those 3 books, NOPE.  NEVER.  I will never get rid of those, they are my prized possessions and when asked to recommend a book or author to anyone, I immediately say Nancy E. Turner.

Anyway, when I saw the sale pop up on Amazon, I jumped on it.  I did a quick search for Nancy E. Turner and found a few more written by her.  Immediately popped them in my cart and hit order.

I could not wait to get them in, I was counting down the hours and even tracked the packages.  When I noticed it say on Amazon that it was delivered to my mailbox, I ran out the door.

I got The Water and the Blood

and My Name is Resolute.

I've already started on My Name is Resolute, and of course, from the first few lines I'm already happy and captivated.  It's going to be a good one. :)

I had told myself that I was going to do nothing but read, but I can't, I just can't, I feel so guilty for even thinking that, so I read, but did laundry, took a little break and worked on my menu plan, did a little bit more of my 2012 Blog Book, watched some more Jamestown which is AMAZING....and yeah, just usual day to day stuff.

For dinner, I threw a curry in the slow cooker this morning and it was delicious.

On the TV right now I have "I am Homicide", but I am going to stop that in a moment and I'll finish it tomorrow.  I do have another series recorded from the History Channel, it premiered yesterday.   You probably heard about it, but if not, it looks like an interesting one.

American Ripper

In American Ripper, Holmes’ great-great-grandson, Jeff Mudgett, sets out to prove a controversial theory: that H.H. Holmes and Britain’s most notorious serial killer, Jack The Ripper, were the same man. After twenty years searching for the truth about his notorious ancestor, Mudgett partners with ex-CIA analyst Amaryllis Fox to launch an all new investigation, using 21st century science and methodology to unlock the secrets of one of the biggest cold cases of all time.
But I'm going to stop talking and I'm going to go and read my book, which I'm dying to get back into.

Let me know who is your favorite book author, I would love to know if there is a specific one you really adore or if there is a book or book series you treasure or recommend to everyone.

  3. I had to click over to Amazon and check out Nancy E. Turner's books - they look very interesting. Did you shop on Prime Day? I hear Amazon made more than Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined.

  4. I have not read that author. I'll have to put that on my list for this coming winter. I don't have much time over summer to read.

  5. I will add Nancy E. Turner books to my to read list. I don't think I've ever heard of her or her books before.
We don't have too many big toads like that around our house, but across the street there is a tiny swamp like pond that hatches tons of tiny baby ones and the find their way to our house quite frequently. I love them but always worry about stepping on them as they are so tiny.
