{ Happy Homemaker Monday - 11/19/2018 }

Good morning everyone and welcome back to my little corner of the world.

I can't believe that by next Monday, Thanksgiving will be over and done with. Goodness gracious!!!

I hope you are all ready for the celebrations this week, spending time with family and indulging in all that glorious food.

I wanted to take this opportunity, and wish you and your family, a blessed wonderful Thanksgiving :)

The Weather:::
It's been quite cold this weekend, but looks like today will be slightly warmer.  The rest of the week will be in the 60's, which I guess is nice if you enjoy the warmer weather, but I always find that Thanksgiving and Christmas don't feel right with warm temperatures.  In my opinion, those days should be cold and either snowy or rainy....but what do I know, right?  Hahah

Right now I am:
Working on this post while I watch the new Outlander.  I have to say, I'm not quite enjoying it as much as the previous seasons, I don't like all this political nonsense in the new season, I much prefer Scotland and focusing on the family, it was nice seeing Brianna again but really hoping for more.  I guess we will wait and see how this plays out.

Thinking:
About Thanksgiving and everything I need to get done for that.

On my reading pile:::
Once a Midwife by Patricia Harman.

On my tv:::
Outlander right now
Manifest
I've been watching non stop Christmas movies, and have watched some really good ones.

On the menu for this week:::

Monday - Chicken Curry and Rice
Tuesday - Taco Pasta Bake, Salad
Wednesday - Zippy Dogs, Potato Salad
Thursday -  Thanksgiving Meal (more on that in a post coming up later)
Friday - Leftovers
Saturday - Pork and Rice Burritos
Sunday -Broccoli Cheese Soup, Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

On my to do list:::
Usual daily cleaning
Thanksgiving post
Thanksgiving preparations
Clean carpets
Dust and vacuum

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
I'm trying to finish off the Ubuntu CAL, but haven't had much time to mess with it as I'm constantly busy with other things.
I've also been eyeing out my second quilt which I started back in Arizona, before Curt retired.  It's been that long, but I just remembered it the other day and I'm wanting to finish it off.

Looking around the house:::
My carpets are a state.  I just can't seem to keep them looking clean, it's why I don't like light colored floors.  I have some Christmas boxes pulled out as we plan on decorating this weekend.  The house itself just needs a good vacuum and dusting and will be ready for guests.

From the camera:::
Just love my Thanksgiving Tree

On my prayer list:::
My mother in law's battle with cancer
My friend Courtney who's husband just had a brain biopsy
My son as he is struggling with anxiety and learning to deal with it.  It breaks my heart that both my children have been affected by anxiety.

Bible verse, Devotional:::

  2. Good morning! I agree with you about the colder weather for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. We have a good cold front moving in with lots of rain for Thanksgiving and I'm hoping for a little snow by Christmas.

    Our original plan was to put the tree up Friday so I also have all the boxes of Christmas decorations out, but we may have to adjust our plan due to the rain - who wants to cut down a tree iN the pouring rain?

    Have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving Sandra!

  5. Your tree is so pretty, I didn't realise that Thanksgiving trees were something people did. We don't have Thanksgiving in Australia, so my Christmas tree is already up and twinkling.

  7. political nonsense?? The Scots were fighting for their freedom as the Americans did shortly after. Not just rhetoric, they put their lives on the line!
    I haven't subscribed to STARZ yet but I really want to see the latest season. The books were just the best. I know what you mean about wanting to hear more about life in the time period in Scotland and the interaction between the characters. Jamie isn't the way I envisioned him but the show is very well done isn't it and Jamie as a character is one of strength and integrity.

    Happy Thanksgiving and we like cooler weather too
