{ Present wrapping and some crochet }
Can we just stop a moment to appreciate this cuteness? He is just so sweet, love his face :)
Although, have to tell you a quick funny story. Mister decided to try and get into his present today. This year I'm wrapping some of the gifts in brown paper, I'm trying to go for a simpler effect, while also saving money on buying wrapping paper by using the leftover from last year that I already had on hand.
I was cleaning in the living room and heard him rustling some paper, when I turned around, there he was, with HIS present in his mouth, trying to get into it. I can't folks, I have never had a dog do this, and he has never done this either, he usually stays away from the tree.
But the fact that not only did he try to get into a present, but it was HIS, was just enough to make us all have a good laugh.
I have started wrapping presents. Let me just say that I am never this organized for Christmas, matter of fact I'm more of a "buy the last week and wrap the night before", kinda gal.
I'm pretty certain a couple of you just shook your heads at that statement, and truth be told, it is kinda bad to wait until last minute.
But, this year I'm on the ball, gifts are bought, and the ones I have with me are already wrapped and under the tree. I have a few more coming in the mail, so I'll wrap as I get them. I've kept it very simple this year, mainly for financial reasons but also because I'm trying very hard to simplify things in my life.
One thing I've been doing since last year, actually, is making my own gift bags out of wrapping paper. You can find all sorts of tutorials online, it's so simple to do and it's great for those items that are usually difficult to wrap. Just do a simple google search and you will find all the help you need :)
I have to show you this reindeer, this is Curt's, he absolutely loves this thing. I find it quite hilarious.
I had quite a simple and quiet Sunday. Jasmine had to work today so I was up at 6am which wasn't very nice, but a mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do. I did go back to bed afterwards, but not to sleep, just messed around on my laptop and watched some Youtube.
I'm just loving the Christmas feel around the house, all the lights, the decorations, the candles, it makes it seem so cozy and warm. Very homey indeed!!!
I was able to sit down for an hour this afternoon, pull up one of my crochet baskets and start on the wiggly dishcloths and trivet. It feels good to work on some crochet, something I haven't been able to really do in a few weeks. Not for anything other than not having time, and a busy routine at the moment.
This is what I meant in my post yesterday where I talked about a quiet heart. I find it hard to have quiet because I'm so often on the go physically and mentally. Even crochet or the thought there of, has my mind spinning in circles. So many projects I want to tackle, and things I want to do, that I sometimes find myself starting something, and then immediately leaving it to jump to something else. It's a sure way of never really finishing any of my WIPS.
Oh boy, I need to work on that.
I've had a bit of a headache all day long, and I'm not quite sure why. I did take some Motrin earlier and it went away for a bit but it seems to be creeping back up again so I'm going to get off the computer and maybe give my eyes some rest from screen time.
Have a blessed Sunday night friends, I'll see you all tomorrow morning for our Happy Homemaker Monday :)
hope your headache is gone by now Sandra...love hearing the goings on in your daily life..
ReplyDeletehave a great monday.
