Good morning everyone, how was your weekend?
I had a fantastic one. We had a lot of family time and realized just how much we had been missing it, and how important it is to connect, talk, hang out. We live in a very fast, chaotic and often times isolating world. People tend to go off into their own corners of the house and only really see each other during meals, and sometimes not even then.
My husband and I try very hard to keep the kids engaged and out of their rooms. Not to say that we don't give them their space and don't allow a day of just being lazy and doing what they want, but even then, we are constantly checking in, talking to them and so forth.
So Saturday, we had a nice dinner out and then a stroll around the mall, we hadn't done that in a long time and all enjoyed it.
Yesterday, Curt and I did some odd jobs around the house, then we spent the afternoon with the kids, in the living room watching movies. It was such a nice afternoon, we ate snacks, had popcorn, bacon sandwiches and chips and soda and just hung out. Perfect!!!
Anyway, good morning again, I hope you have a fantastic week ahead. Let's get on with our Happy Homemaker Monday.

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
I have so many projects just hanging about. I need to get back into the crochet groove and start finishing these off. For the moment though I'm working on the tulips.
Looking forward to:::
Hopefully the meds working and getting rid of this clogged ear and ringing that is still going on. Doctor did say it would take 7 days for the meds to clear this fluid out, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. The ringing is quite loud today and I'm having to really concentrate on everything else around me so the sound doesn't drive me insane.
Looking around the house:::
I'm still in the bedroom, Jasmine doesn't work today so I have the day all to myself and my homemaking and I plan on taking full advantage of that. I will be opening the backdoor soon, opening the curtains and all the windows in the house to let in the fresh air.
From the camera:::
Love the crochet tulips, they look so delicate and pretty.
What I'm wearing today:::
Still in my nightgown but will go change into a tank top and some shorts, as soon as I'm done with this post.
One of my simple pleasures:::
Movie afternoons with my family.
Bible verse, Devotional, prayers:::
I am so disappointed with this whole college scandal situation and Lori Loughlin's involvement. I've been a huge fan of hers for many years, and I had a lot of respect for her. This just threw me for a loop, and I'm sure everyone else too. It's frustrating to think that these celebrities feel their money allows them to do whatever they wish with no consequences, but it's even worse when it's someone you truly think are good and respected.
The fact that it's affected When Calls the Heart, is just another punch in the gut.
But with that said, I think we also need to remember that they are celebrities but are also human, and humans make mistakes, sometimes huge incredibly dumb mistakes, but mistakes nonetheless. Everyone deserves a second chance, and I pray that Lori has learned from this. It's a sad situation all around.
I'm so glad you're starting to feel better and had such a wonderful family weekend. The whole college scandal thing is really sad. I feel the same way you do about Lori Laughlin and the shows that I watch being affected. Sadly, if they had just donated the money for a building or a program to be erected. no one would have batted an eye :(
ReplyDeleteHave a GREAT week. Your weather sound perfect and consistent - 2 tough things to find in Texas this time of year!
Seems like you had a great weekend. Hoping the ringing in the ears will stop soon. Had not heard about the scandal thing - geez!
ReplyDeleteLove the crochet tulips
Glad to hear you had a great time with family this weekend! I am bummed about When Calls the Heart... I wonder if another station will pick it up? or will she be recast?? Hmmm Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHave you tried eating local honey year round? It helps to build immunity slowly to the local pollen. Might be something to try so next year you maybe won’t suffer as badly.
ReplyDeleteI too am shocked and saddened by Lori Loughlin. I always believe the best in people and never consider she would stoop that low.
P.S. just read.... Hallmark is not cancelling When Calls the Heart! yay
ReplyDeleteSounds like it was a wonderful weekend! I love your beautiful tulips - you talented lady you. ;) Perfect for Spring. And I thought it was so awful about that scandal too!! I keep praying for our world in general. Shootings, scandals, environment..all of it. Hope you have a blessed week ahead xoox
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are starting to feel better! It sounds like you had a great weekend, and a busy week ahead planned.
ReplyDeleteAs you can see, Sandra, I'm running behind this week. Thought I'd try to get in a comment or two before work this morning. Sounds like you all had a great family weekend. We did, too, here with our St. Patty's Day get-together. Aren't you loving the warmer temperatures? I sure am! Menus look good and love the crocheted tulips! So cute! Have a blessed weekend and, hopefully, I'll be back schedule come Monday! Blessings! <3
