Good morning everyone, welcome to another Happy Homemaker Monday.
How was your weekend? I sure hope you had a good, restful one. Mine was quite nice. Saturday afternoon we headed to the mall to get Jasmine's birthday gifts. It's getting harder to figure out what to give the kids as they get older, and so the best way has been to let them pick their own and that is what she did.
After that we had a nice quiet dinner at Denny's and then headed back home to relax.
Sunday was spent around the house, Curt and I completely moved our bedroom around. It looks huge now although I'm trying to get used to the way it is set up.
Anyway, enough blabbing, let's go on with our post today.
Wishing you all a blessed week ahead :)
The weather:::
The temperatures have been nice and warm, but with that we have had really bad storms and even tornadoes in the area, it IS after all that time of the year.
Monday - Partly Cloudy, 86º
Tuesday - Scattered Thunderstorms, 83º
Wednesday - Scattered Strong Storms, 84º
Thursday - Partly Cloudy, 67º
Friday - Mostly Cloudy, 68º
Saturday - PM Showers, 68º
Sunday - Partly cloudy, 64º
On my reading pile:::
By Invitation Only by Dorothea Benton Frank
Movies or Shows I watched this weekend:::
I made a post last night about what I've been enjoying, so if you're interested in that, you can see it here.
Last night I also watched the new series The Spanish Queen, which I've been waiting on for so long. If you've watched The White Queen or The White Princess then this is the sequel and a MUST watch, as it follows the life of Catherine of Aragon, her short marriage to Prince Arthur and then King Henry VIII.
I also watched the new and finally long awaited episode of When Calls the Heart, after the whole Lori Loughlin college scandal.
On my TV this week:::
General Hospital
Juana Ines
Homemaking vlogs
On the menu for this week:::
Monday
Pasteis de Massa Tenra (Meat Pastries), Oven Potato Wedges
Tuesday
Creamy Taco Pasta, Salad
Wednesday
Country Club Chicken, Mashed Potatoes
Thursday
Baked Beef Ravioli, Salad
Friday
Feijoada com arroz (Portuguese Bean Stew)
Saturday
Pork Parmigiana with Spaghetti Noodles
Sunday
Hay and Straw
On my to do list:::
Iron a pile of laundry
Clean the house
School ends this week so we are finishing off some lessons
What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
Still working on the crochet placemats but really been wanting to make another blanket, so have been looking for the right pattern.
Looking forward to:::
I have an appointment with the ENT coming up on the 24th and I'm quite looking forward to that. My ear has gotten a lot better, but it's still not back to normal and it's now been over 2 months, so I'm ready to get some answers from the specialist and hopefully fix this issue once and for all.
Looking around the house:::
I just uncovered the birds and they are happily chirping away, looking out the window. It is cloudy again this morning, so the house is not bright and shiny as I like to see it, but rather a hazy dark grey as we're expecting some storms in a few hours.
I have a clothes drying rack in the living room at the moment, I brought it in yesterday afternoon when it started sprinkling again, so the clothes should be dry and ready to iron.
From the camera:::
We had burgers for dinner last week, and I made some very easy and quick burger buns.
What I'm wearing today:::
In my pajamas at the moment, but I'll be changing into some workout clothes in a minute, as I've decided to get back into my Zumba routine.
One of my simple pleasures:::
Taking care of my home, moving things around, breathing new life into familiar places.
Bible verse, Devotional, prayers:::
Today's verse is actually for all of you sweet ladies that have been following me, and joining in on this popular feature for so long.
No matter what you may be going through at the moment, just remember that God is within you.
I so want to change my bedroom around, but can't get the hubs on board to do it! I hate when the weather turns scary! Your menu had me drooling! Have a great Monday!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear your ear is doing better and hoping the specialist can help get you back to a complete normal. Your menu sounds delicious! This is always the worrisome time of year in your neck of the woods - praying for an easy season for you. My DVR messed up the When Calls the Heart episode so have not yet seen it, but will hopefully be able to get it On Demand - I'm so curious to see how they handled it all. Have a WONDERFUL week.
ReplyDeletePraying for your ENT appointment and that God keeps you safe during the stormy season! I can't wait to catch up on WCTH and find out what they did with Abagail! It's my daughters favorite show, and she's going to miss Lori, even though we all agree they handled it the way they should have. Have a beautiful week, thanks so much for hosting!
ReplyDeleteSo glad your ear is better, I'll be praying for a complete recovery!! Have a beautiful day!!

Your meals for the week look and sound delicious. I'm so behind with meal planning this week and might end up using yours for inspiration.
ReplyDeleteHopefully the ENT will get you squared away. You've been dealing with this problem with your ears for far too long. I'm so jealous that your school year is ending so soon. Our last day is the 23rd and it's complete crazy town until then. I want it all to hurry up and be done. lol
Have a wonderful week.
Your menu plans look good and the food pics are beautiful! Love the verse you selected to share this week! Have a great rest of the week and stay safe in the upcoming storms. I am praying peace and safety over all! Blessings! <3
ReplyDeleteI keep running behind this week and missed linking up with you again. That's pretty much what my weekend looked like...running around like crazy getting things done. I may have also lost myself in a new hobby,genealogy, it's become quite addicted.
ReplyDeleteYour menu looks so yummy. I haven't had lunch yet and am now drooling.
I'm also looking for a new pattern as well, I want to do a baby blanket for a friend.
Hope you the rest of your week goes well.
I apologize that I have 3 entries in your linky..I wanted to amend the first one, and added a second and third and cannot figure out how to remove them, the linky tool thing doesn't work.
