Hope you've had a good weekend. Ours was amazing, and totally unexpected.
On Saturday morning, Curt and I had a huge blessing fall upon us. Something that we had been hoping for but didn't think would happen for quite a while. We had placed it in the Lord's hands and completely forgot about it, and of course as always, He came through in a BIG way.
I'm not going to say exactly what it was, just that it was unexpected, it has helped us immensely and we are both so thankful for it. So, great weekend.
Aside from that, Curt left yesterday afternoon for a week's TDY (temporary duty), some training that he required for his job. The sad part is that he is away from us, but the good part is that it is only until Friday and he is near home, one call and he can be here shortly (if that were needed).
So I'm sorta flying solo for this week.
Anyway, let's get on with our happy Homemaker Monday. Wishing you all a beautiful blessed week ahead.
OH and I almost forgot, I am back in business....the blogging business. I got my lens in and it works perfectly. Yay, stay tuned for daily blogs starting today :)
The weather:::
It has been pretty hot the past few days, upper 90's.
Monday - Clouds breaking, pleasant - 79
Tuesday - Partly sunny, 82
Wednesday - Partly sunny, 85
Thursday - Partly sunny, 84
Friday - A shower or thunderstorm, 91
On my reading pile:::
The Great Unexpected by Dan Mooney.
Movies or Shows I watched this weekend:::
Watched the first episode of NOS4A2 with hubby and Jasmine. It was........weird? I don't know if I like it, I might watch the second one and see how I feel but for the moment, it's a no for me.
On my TV this week:::
General Hospital
Homemaking vlogs
The Spanish Princess
Criminal Minds
60 Minutes Australia
True Crime Daily
On the menu for this week:::
Keeping it super simple this week since Curt won't be home for dinner.
Monday
Pizzadillas
Tuesday
Tuna Salad
Wednesday
Breakfast for dinner (Sausage, Eggs, Hash Browns, Pancakes)
Thursday
Macaroni and Cheese (I'll probably have something else, not a huge fan of mac and cheese)
Friday
Stromboli, Lunch Lady Brownies
On my to do list:::
Make a few phone calls
Work on new menu plan
Work on blog ideas
Sweep and mop kitchen
What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
Made a bird cage cover and seed catcher, last week. You can check it out in this blog post.
Looking forward to:::
This week going quick so that I can have my husband back home. When he retired we hoped that would be the end of time apart, we had our fair share while active duty. But, I guess there are still going to be a few training trips here and there.
Looking around the house:::
I've already opened the birds, opened the curtains and blinds, and popped open the back screen door to let in fresh air. It's a gorgeous morning, only 60 degrees right now so it feels amazing. The house is clean side from that, so not much to do.
From the camera:::
I am SOOOOOOO happy that I finally have my lens. I can get back to business. Soon as I got it, I popped it on the camera and gave it a go.
What I'm wearing today:::
Summer dress and sandals.
One of my simple pleasures:::
Working on the meal plan. That may sound completely crazy but I love sitting down, figuring out meals, going through cookbooks and planning what my family will be eating.
Bible verse, Devotional, prayers:::
Glad you had good news this weekend and hope the week passes by quickly for you and your family. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteYay for getting your lens!!! I am in love with the pup pic! So cute! NOS4A2 - I have seen commercials for this, and was on the fence about it... but after seeing the first episode, its not for me as well. Lunch lady brownies...too funny this is on my list to make this weekend. Love the flower pic as well! Have a great Monday!
ReplyDeleteSo glad your camera woes are in the past! ADORABLE picture of Marley to celebrate it. CONGRATULATIONS on your unexpected blessing and cute irony with t=your reading pile. I hope Curt's TDY goes well and quickly. We watched both episodes of NOS4A2 also and will give it a bit more as I read it is supposed to be Stephen King like and that he endorsed it so will see where it goes a bit more.
