{ Happy Homemaker Monday - 04/13/2020 }

Good morning everyone, how are you all feeling?  Honesty, how are you feeling, are you doing ok?

I think that we are all struggling a bit in one way or another.  For my children and family members who suffer from depression, it's getting harder to deal with the lockdowns.  I am really hoping and praying that the country opens back up soon.

I've lost track of the time, no clue exactly how long we've been stuck indoors, and half the time I don't even what day of the week it is, unless my husband tells me since he is still working every day.

Anyway let's not focus on that anymore.  How was your Easter?  We had a very quiet slow one, very reminiscent of the ones we used to have when we were still active duty military.  I wasn't going to make a big meal or even set the table nicely, but I decided last minute to go ahead and do that.  No matter what is happening outside these 4 walls, inside we are still the same people and still celebrate our Lord on Easter Sunday.

So we ended up having a very nice meal, with a cutesy table setting too.  I hope your Easter was a wonderful one as well.

Now, let's switch gears and get right into our Happy  Homemaker Monday.

Happy Homemaker Monday

♥♥The Weather♥♥
So cold this morning.  We have a cold front coming in and there's even talk of snow.  In April.  In Texas.  The planet is definitely confused at the moment.

Monday - AM clouds, PM sun, 52
Tuesday - AM showers, 49
Wednesday - Partly cloudy, 62
Thursday - Mostly Sunny, 72
Friday - Mostly cloudy, 57
Saturday -  Partly cloudy, 70
Sunday - Scattered Thunderstorms, 74

♥♥How I am feeling this morning♥♥
Woke up with a bit of a headache, due to the allergies and the constant change in weather.  Actually, woke up, tried to speak to my husband and didn't have much of a voice, but it was fine 2 minutes later LOL

♥♥On my mind♥♥
I have my mammogram appointment on Friday.  Aside from it being one of those appointments that no woman look forward to, I'm a little apprehensive about going to the hospital.  It's such a strange feeling, when you are anxious about walking into your hospital for an appointment.

♥♥On the breakfast plate♥♥
As always, I've had a cup of coffee.  For breakfast I am having one of my Honey Butter Rolls.  I made them yesterday for our Easter dinner and they were AMAZING.  I've posted the recipe on the food blog already.

♥♥On my reading pile♥♥
Finishing up The Ancestors for a book review, and have another 5 waiting to be read and reviewed too, including these two:

Easter Sunday

♥♥Looking around the house♥♥
I have my windows open this morning, and from my spot on the bed I can see the sun rising outside.  The sky is a mixture of dark clouds and an orange glow, so pretty.
The house is quiet and pretty dark at the moment.
I don't have a lot to clean today, I've been keeping on top of it every day so it's easier to maintain.

♥♥Chore I'm not looking forward to today, or this week♥♥
I am planning on washing all the curtains in the house.  It's not that I don't like that chore, it's just one of those chores that take all day to do.

♥♥To relax this week, I will♥♥
Nothing has changed, so there will be more sewing, crocheting and reading.  Hopefully some gardening as well.

♥♥On my prayer list♥♥
* The President and our country.
* People all over the world facing who are currently stuck indoors.  I know many are suffering with mental illness and this lockdown is not easy at all.  I pray for God to bring them peace and comfort through this.

♥♥Devotional/Bible Verse♥♥
Sometimes when we pray for protection, God answers with perspective.

  2. We treated Easter the same also, after all it was about the day and what it represents and not what was going on in the world around us for that moment. I'm glad I made a traditional meal, albeit MUCH scaled down for just the 2 of us. Your rolls look light and fluffy like I could just snatch one from the screen.

Weather truly has been NUTS. We're still having regular freeze warnings here and have been dry - very strange for this time of year in the Pacific Northwest. We actually NEED rain!

Administrations of Lunacy looks like a light read - NOT! Honestly that one intrigues me for some unknown reason. Tray and have a WONDERFUL week. Keeping you all in my prayers.

  3. We cleaned flower beds to get outside, and had a very non-traditional Easter. I made chicken stroganoff and a cauliflower casserole. It's been getting very emotional toxic for us lately. We are trying to keep our spirits up.

  4. I'm getting very weary of being stuck at home. Missing going out and doing normal things. Those rolls look delicious! Hope you have a great week and that Friday is not too stressful.

  5. We didn't do much for Easter, really different than what we are used too (a family reunion of 60 people), just felt blah.

Hope the world feels better soon - have a great week

  6. I have been missing spring sun rises lately. It seems I’m always just a shade too late. We do not have the best view of them, but I just love the striated shades of red to pink ... I suppose I will have to set the alarm! Have a wonderful week!

  7. I've suffered with depression for many years and this isolating has definitely triggered it lately. It's tough when others don't understand and they keep trying to give me advice on "staying positive" but it's just not easy. I also deal with anxiety. I'm a homebody who loves being at home but I also like to be in control. Being TOLD I have to stay home feels very different and it's harder to deal with. I'm thankful for my faith in God because that's the only thing keeping me strong right now. I really do hope normalcy will continue soon. I haven't done HHM in awhile, maybe next week.

  8. The weather in your neck of the woods is like it is here. It has been up and down so much the past week. Your menu this week sounds delicious! I cannot wait to get back into the blogging grove. It brings me so much joy. I suppose I am looking for any kind of normalcy in my life. Have a great week.

I did the same thing and decided to make Easter really feel like Easter. And I'm also with you in that I have trouble keeping track of what the heck day it is! Lol
Those rolls look amazing! And I'm glad you had a nice holiday. blessings on the rest of your week ❤️ 🙏
