{ Happy Homemaker Monday - 07/04/22 }

Good morning everyone, and a very Happy Fourth of July!!!

It is my first one as an American Citizen, and it means the absolute world to me to be able to say that.
I hope you all have a blessed 4th, and are able to celebrate with family and friends.   We had our barbecue yesterday.  A barbecue that started off getting rained on, out of nowhere a thunderstorm hit hahahah

But we went on to have a wonderful day with our family, there was swimming and eating, drinking and laughing and all the good things.  But, I'm beyond exhausted and sore.  Curt and I have been working on our yard for weeks, and it's just been draining on our bodies.

So today, we are doing nothing but relaxing and trying to catch up on sleep, as well as shifting this soreness that we feel throughout our body.

Anyway, that is all that I have planned for this beautiful day, a quiet relaxing one.  Hope you all have a fantastic blessed week.

♥♥ The Weather ♥♥
The triple digits are here to stay, they are just unbearably hot.  We are thankful for the random rain we get here and there, and I'm even thankful for the little bit of rain we get once in a while.  It helps cool things down.

Monday -  Abundant sunshine, 102
Tuesday - Sunny, 104
Wednesday - Sunny, 106
Thursday - Mostly sunny, 105
Friday - Mostly sunny, 106
Saturday - Mostly sunny, 107
Sunday - Mostly sunny, 107

♥♥  As I look outside my window ♥
I can see our gazebo from my window, I still need to throw away the plastic tablecloths we used for the barbecue yesterday.  Our pool is up and running and it really looks like a peaceful retreat, out back.

♥♥  Right now I am ♥♥
Working on this post, while having my breakfast.

♥♥  Thinking and pondering ♥♥
On nothing really, my mind is tired too so I'm just not worrying or thinking or planning anything for today.  Giving my whole body, including my mind, a huge break.

♥♥  How am I feeling ♥♥
As mentioned above, sore and really tired, but happy and relaxed at the same time.

♥♥  On the breakfast plate ♥♥
Cup of coffee and toast.

♥♥  What I'm wearing  ♥♥
Still in my pajamas, but will throw on some comfy shorts and a tank top soon.

♥♥  On my reading pile ♥♥
Reading through Isaiah in the Bible, and also still reading the Paul David Tripp New Morning Mercies devotional.
Janette Oke's Women of the West

This list hasn't changed at all for the past month or so.  Really need to finish that book and start another.

♥♥  On my TV this week  ♥♥
Star Trek Strange New Worlds
Mad About You
Homemaking vlogs
Becoming Elizabeth
New Downton Abbey movie

♥♥  On the menu  ♥♥
Already need to start planning the new menu.  This time around, I am going to try and do a lot of grilling outside.  I always adjust my meal plans to the different times of year, so summer time means lots of grilling, which we love.

Monday - Leftover barbecue (we always make a lot so that everyone has leftovers the next day, so we have BLT Pasta Salad, Jalapeno Poppers, burgers and hotdogs)
Tuesday - Rissois de Galinha, arroz de cenoura  (chicken rissoles and rice with carrots)
Wednesday - Frango no Churrasco (Barbecue Chicken)
Thursday - Chicken Enchiladas, Black Beans and Rice, Salad
Friday -
Saturday -
Sunday -

♥♥  Looking around the house  ♥♥
I need to run my carpet cleaner over the area, that got the most traffic yesterday, during the barbecue.  It's got a few spots from people walking and Kaia's muddy paws in and out during the sporadic moments of rain.
My kitchen sink also has a pile of serving trays and bowls that I need to wash, by hand, because the dishwasher is full and running at the moment.

♥♥  To Do List ♥♥
-  Give the carpet a quick run over with the carpet cleaner
-  Wash dishes in sink

♥♥  From the camera  ♥♥
Fresh bread from a few days ago.  I love seeing bread sitting on the counter.

♥♥  Devotional  ♥♥
When you're weary with the battle, remember that the One who is your strength never take a break, never needs sleep, never grows weary.
