Good morning, welcome back to my blog.
How was your weekend? Mine was good but busy, as always. I cannot believe that we are already on the 20th of October, it's mind boggling to me, just how fast the weeks and months fly by.
Anyway, let's get right on with our post. I have a lot to do today, lots of homemaking going on, and kitchen prepping for the week and so on. I hope you all have a wonderful, blessed week ahead.
*** The Weather ***
Finally feels like fall. Saturday morning, it actually smelled like fall. I don't know if you understand what I mean by that, but there is a very specific smell to Fall, it's hard to describe. Since then, every morning it has been chilly. This morning is only 50 degrees, and I am so happy, sooooo happy, I can't even begin to tell you.
Tuesday - Sunny, 79
Wednesday - Mostly Sunny, 83
Thursday - Thunderstorms, 84
Friday - Thunderstorms, 79
Saturday - Morning showers, 72
Sunday - Partly cloudy, 81
*** Right now I am ***
I just got my breakfast and am at my desk writing up this post.
*** Thinking and pondering ***
So many things. With the government shutdown, many federal employees are working with no pay, my husband included. It's worrisome but we know that God is in control, and He will see us through this. It's a scary thought to know you have bills to pay and no money coming in.
Also thinking about Thanksgiving still, plans and who is coming over and all that stuff.
*** How I am feeling ***
Even with everything going on, I am feeling extremely blessed.
*** On the breakfast plate ***
Having my second cup of coffee and a bowl of Cream of Wheat.
*** On the lunch plate ***
I'll be having some tuna salad today.
*** On the dinner plate ***
Slow Cooked Cabbage Rolls.

*** What I am wearing ***
Pajama set, pants and short sleeved shirt, but I do need my robe because these mornings are chilly. I will put on some black leggins, black tank top and a checkered black and white shirt over, when I get dressed for the day.
*** On my reading pile ***
Bible Recap.
I finished Hartwood Hall by Katie Lumsden and LOVED it. I am now reading Harstairs House by Amanda Grange and equally loving it.
*** On my TV this week ***
Vlogtober on Youtube.
Great British Bake Off on Netflix.
*** Looking around the house ***
The sun is starting to come in and the whole house is bathed in the most gorgeous golden light. I love early morning and sunset light, it is magical.
*** To do list ***
Bible and Devotional time
Daily homemaking chores
Water inside plants
Finish part 2 of the Solstice Blanket so that I can start Part 3, which was released on Friday.
Prep kitchen veggies for the week (I got groceries on Saturday and need to cut, prep and package all the veggies.
Make my Massa de Pimentao (red pepper paste)
*** What I am creating ***
Solstice Star Blanket CAL by Helen at Crystals and Crochet. *** From the camera ***
Still getting some harvest from the garden, finishing off what is left on the plants. Basil and Swiss Chard.
*** Devotional, Prayers, Bible Verses ***
Praying for this ridiculous government shutdown to end. There are many people out there struggling, having to work with no pay. Thankfully Curt and I are prepared, though it does still affect us, but we know God will provide as He always does. However, there are many others who don't have any other income coming in, and it is absolutely shameful to put these poor people through this. Yes once the government opens they will get back pay, but that means nothing when people need to pay their mortgages and bills and buy food. Please pray people come to their senses and open the government.

Thank you, Sandra dear, for always sharing a little bit of your life, making us feel part of your days. I do know very well what you mean when you talk about smell of Fall, that's what I can breathe in here for a few days and which gives me too such a inner joy I cannot describe!
ReplyDeleteThanking you for hosting, as well
I'm wishing you too a blessed new week

I can't believe were almost through October either! And you are right Fall has its very own aroma - so glad you're finally getting fall. For us, we are skipping right over fall and jumping from summer to winter almost overnight! I'm not complaining though as summer is my least favorite season! Have a very blessed week my friend.
ReplyDeleteThis morning was a little warmer but last week it smelled like Fall :) So dark though in the morning for my walk... have to wait and go later and that doesn't agree with me. Your menu looks so cozy. Have a great week
ReplyDeleteYes, how time flies, Sandra! Here too, autumn is in full swing, with beautiful colors.
ReplyDeleteWhat an exciting time you're experiencing (financially).
Kind regards,
Hello dear Friend! There is such a smell to Fall here too. I love it. Love that you're still getting lovely produce from your garden. :) I've been praying for the shutdown too. It is getting ridiculous and I hope they figure it out soon. And praying for health issues in my world currently - so if you have extra prayers out a few this way would be so appreciated too. Blessings Sandra. xoox
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean about the Fall smell. Some smells like fall, line dried laundry, and the smell of a summer rain shower have to be enjoyed in person. No matter how hard they try to manufacture the smell in a jar or detergent, they never do it justice.
ReplyDeleteHubby works for a defense contractor. Although they have slowed down they are still showing up and getting a paycheck. We worry every day about how long the company can make payroll without money coming in. Sending up lots of prayer about this whole shut down situation.
Thank you so much for hosting this party! I'm so sorry about the government shut down- nothing about that seems okay and it hurts my heart that those who are affected are our heroes. I will be praying it resolves very soon!
