What do you think??? You have some great recipes to share, or perhaps you're looking for some delicious ones to give you a reason to pull out the ol' crockpot???
Well starting today, I'm going to post a Slow Cooker Recipe every thursday. If anyone wants to join in, just add your name to Mr. Linky :)
Chuck Wagon Chili Crockpot
2 pounds lean round beef, cut into 1-inch cubes
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups chopped onions
2 cups beef broth
1 cup water
2 cups canned tomatoes, not drained
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon cayenne peppe
4 cups cooked pinto beans
Combine all ingredients except beans in your slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours. Add beans and cook an additional 1-2 hours.

Kathy
I didn't know about this new thing, so I'm excited. In fact, Thursday is my slow cooking day (because of soccer practice and my husband's church meeting). I will try to share a recipe, too.
ReplyDeleteMmmm... I love slow-cooker meals! So yummy! And they really make your house smell so good! My fav is pot roast!
ReplyDeleteOooh and I just put some chicken in my slowcooker this morning. I do need some recipies though (only got mine a week ago) so roll on!
ReplyDeleteOkey dokey. I love this too. You're on a roll Girl! I love my crockpot. What a great way to get more recipes. So yep. I'm doing this one, too.
ReplyDeleteI am absolutely in love with my crockpot and can't wait to try this recipe. Of course I may not be cooking for awhile due to my recent accident, but you never know. As soon as I can though I am going to make this.
ReplyDeleteI'm an appliance person and a lot of them get dusty, but my crockpot? Never....I have two. One big enough to hold larger stuff, and one of those old ones I picked up at a garage sale for $1. I use it the most. Best appliance I own.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like fun! I need to dig out my crockpot cookbooks!!

Mmmmm...chili. Love chili.
ReplyDeleteBut am I the only one who uses her crockpot, then out of exhaustion (and maybe laziness) puts the cooled crock of leftovers in the fridge, then forgets about it til it's gross, then can't use the crockpot because she doesn't want to clean out the cold, jellified mess in it? Hmmm? No? Guess it's just me. ;-)

This turned out like soup for me and the onions didn't cook all the way though even after 8 hours. Just letting people know...just in case. I am a bad cook, it could just be me.
