Wordless Wednesday with a Twist: Summertime

It's WWWAT time again! And the theme for this week is "Summertime."

I LOVE summer, but summer time in Arizona can be quite awful, you literally feel out of breath just walking out the front door. But in between all the crazy heat, there's the amazing thunderstorms, the kind that you look to the left and the sky is blue and then you turn to the right and it's a dark purple.

It's great for us, we're at home, not so great for Curt who works out on the flight line with the jets. LOL

Beautiful, just beautiful!

Wagon Rides just before the sun starts setting...it's the best time of the day because if you try to go anytime between 9am and 5pm...you're done LOL

Fun at the park

Good times at the Base Carnival

Nights spent outside in the back yard. I love this one, the expression on Nicholas' face is priceless

Of course the obligatory sprinklers and water slides are out

Happy Summertime!

  12. Is that an "Ick, I'm getting hugged by a girl" face, or an "Ack, I'm getting squeezed to death" face, or another face entirely!

What fun summer activities, hmmmmm I remember when slip and slides first came out... and my parent wouldn't get one, even though we begged :) I feel like I'm getting old.

  13. Nicholas' face is saying; "I don't care if she is my sister...She's a GIRL and she's HUGGING me!" "Hellllp!"

  16. I love that pic of Nicholas in the wagon with his arm around Yoshi. (Is that what it's called? LOL.)

We've been having lots of thunderstorms this summer, too. More than I remember for a long time. One is rolling in even as I type.

It's hot here too- but not as bad as you have.
We spent the day in the pool to keep cool.

  18. Sandra, you didn't tell me that all of them are sooooooooooooooooo young! {On this summertime thing} :-) I'm probably the only Nana who did any commenting. -giggles-

I actually got through into the teens and... I'm so hot here, that I had to stop. And of course now I'll feel guilty about not getting to everyone's blog. And my feeling guilty, will be all your fault!<--There! How is that for a WHINNNNNNNNNNNE?!? ,-)))))

  24. Great pics! I know what you mean about AZ in the summer!! I have lots of family there (mom & stepdad, sister & her hubby, and a couple aunts and their families). We try to only come in the winter but we get roped into showing up in July and August some too. My sis is due in late February so I'll be making a trip out then but that's a good time to come!

  28. Awesome pics Sandra! i love how the clouds lay out there where you are! They lay different here...if that makes any sense. Plus...with the hills etc...(i live in PA)...it doesn't have the same affect! And all the pics of the kids playing are great!!! Too fun! :)

  29. I love that picture of the 2 of them together at dark! So cute.
It gets really hot here in the summer; my daughter that just moved back from North Carolina was whining about how hot it was! I told her she grew up here and should know how it is, how soon we forget.

  30. Nicholas' face in the hug picture is AWESOME! It's so typical of the brother/sister relationship, isn't it!

Great picture, Sandra. I wish we had a base carnival here... that would be a JOKE! There are like 12 people stationed here :) Supposedly more are coming in... we'll see!!
