Here we are, day two of our challenge.
If you're just now joining in, be sure to read yesterday's post and first day task. I'm not exactly sure how many of you are joining in, but for those that left their names on the linky list, thank you, I appreciate it :)
So onto today's task.
Day Two:
" . . . through love serve one another." Gal. 5:13b
How did you do yesterday with your first day of blessing and encouraging your husband? Was it easy? Was it hard to hold your tongue when you wanted to say something negative? We hope you're off to a good start. (If you blew it, don't give up start again today!) There are so many practical things you can praise, if you look for them.
Today, find some way that your husband is serving you or your family. Does he help around the house? Take care of the car? Fix things that are broken? If your budget allows, give him a new, small tool with a big bow attached. But make sure he doesn't think it's part of a "Honey Do" list!
Maybe your husband's not a handyman, but does he run errands for you? Let you go first? Take care of you when you are sick? Help you make decisions? Praise him for his willingness to serve others. Let him know that you see his unique service as a great strength.
***************************
Yesterday was wonderful, even though we had already talked about the joy of being in each other's lives, I once again thanked him for choosing me and for continuing to love me through all these years.
I did almost get a little irritated with him, it was something to do with the kids where I felt he was being unfair and my first instinct was to lash out, but I bit my tongue and calmly talked to him out of their earshot and it was resolved right away :)
I know it's easy to get caught up in things and react, but we have to really learn to control ourselves and not act on impulse but rather calmly and composed.
Let's see how today goes :)
How was it for you?
Day 1
Day 2
I'm joining in a day late! So funny... read your post yesterday AFTER a stupid argument, so I think I definitely need this :-) We did kiss and make up, of course!
ReplyDeleteCarol I'm glad you're joining in too :) I was definitely needing this in my life right now and I'm noticing a lot of you saying the same thing, so I think that the Lord is bringing us together on this for a reason :)
ReplyDeleteAnother good idea for today!
ReplyDeleteI agree, the Lord is bringing us all together for this.
ReplyDeleteI sent him an email thanking him for choosing me (I wasn't coping out of telling him directly, he is impossible to get a hold of at work!). He called me when he had the chance and was really, really touched. Thanks for a wonderful suggestion.
ReplyDeleteI just came across your blog after googling "stay at home mom". How ironic it is that I wrote a post this morning on my blog titled: Thank you, to my husband. :) I am so excited the Lord has brought me to your site!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for starting this challenge. This is just what I needed!
ReplyDeleteLike Sandy i too came across your blog after googling " Stay At Home Mom ". i m also joining you. Thank God for took me out here .. :)
ReplyDeleteI am in...
ReplyDeleteI will start tomorrow.
I have been married for 1 year 4 months, and I feel this relationship is hard enough for me. I need God's grace to mold and shape me.
