The Weather:::
67 degrees. We'll be staying in the 80's this week and I'm more than ready for it. I used to think that 80 was hot back in Idaho LOL Now it's sweater weather....just kidding, maybe not sweater weather, but definitely Fall weather.
Right now I am:
Wearing my pj's, enjoying a cup of coffee and not fully awake yet.
Thinking:
That Fall break is over and today we are back to school, I need to get the kid's lessons ready. Also thinking about hubby's class this week, he will be doing his TAP class all week, which is the Transition Assistance Program for those who are retiring. How exciting :)
On my reading pile:::
Nothing, other than some crochet patterns to make some Minecraft stuff for my kids for Christmas.
On my tv:::

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::

Homemaking Tips:::
I don't waste anything, nor do I like throwing out stuff. Honestly, if people took a few minutes of prep or of thought, they could be saving a lot of money when it comes to food. Some of the things I do are: If I make a huge pot of mashed potatoes, whatever isn't eaten, I freeze in ziploc baggies. If it's enough for another meal then when I want to use it, I just pull it out and warm it up on the stovetop (it tastes just fine). If it's not enough for another meal then I use it either for my sourdough bread or for shepherd's pie or potato pancakes etc.
I do the same with rice, if there's a lot leftover I freeze it, or I make Rice pudding the next day.
By taking a little time and thought, I save a lot of money on groceries, and always have things in the freezer for future meals.
Looking around the house:::
Hubby is getting his laptop ready to take to class. Pugs are sleeping on the couch, kids are still asleep as well.
Living room just needs a little tidying mainly blankets to be folded and put back on the couch, some kid shoes on the rug etc.
Kitchen needs to be swept and mopped, but aside from breakfast dishes, it's clean.
From the camera:::
On my prayer list:::
My brother and sister in law as they prepare for an important interview the first week of November.
Hubby and I as we prepare for retirement.
Bible verse, Devotional:::
In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.
Proverbs 16:9
My kids are so into mincraft too! Where did you get the patterns? Could you post them please!? That s such a good idea for Christmas. Luv your blog.
ReplyDeleteI made your ham and beans yesterday. I wound up adding a little salsa (using up a jar that was sitting in the fridge, yea me!) and shredded cheese since we had ham and bean soup earlier in the week. It was delicious! I have so many dried beans and have wanted to make them more often. Thank you so much for giving me an easy way to prepare them so they are ready for anything! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteWe've got snow warnings out for today, Sandra! I can't even conjure up in my mind what 80 was like this summer. LOL.
ReplyDeleteIs your rice pudding recipe posted?
I can't imagine your weather at all, I was so pleased it was 60F here today, I could walk around the park without my coat on! lol! Would you like to trade for a week or two, South East England for Arizona?
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week :) xxx
My husband and brother in law are in to minecraft.
ReplyDeleteI love how you use everything. I'm trying to get better about it. I hate throwing food away!
I keep finding new stuff that can be frozen to prepare ahead or to save leftovers. A deep freezer is on our wish list.
ReplyDeleteIve never frozen mashed potatoes before. Usually there is never any left BUT if there ever is...its good to know I dont have to waste them!
ReplyDeleteNever heard of minecraft.
ReplyDeleteI will be praying for your brother.
We love Rice pudding! One of our favorites in the fall and winter.
Didn't know I could freeze rice...we usually eat it with milk & sugar in the morning, but next time I will freeze it! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love your picture today...as usual. I got a late start posting today because I had a wonderful visit from my brother. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteWow I cant get over the people that add links to HHM that have nothing to do with it!! Just sayin...rude! Sorry they do that Sandra..you have a good thing going here.
ReplyDeleteWhether you're bringing in one shining star or relocating a whole department to a new office in a different region, low-stress relocation is easier with the right budgeting tools and a relocation calculator.
