For me at least :)
Another day of homemaking, homeschooling, cooking and cleaning.
I used to resent the fact that it was so monotonous day in and day out, but not anymore, I'm more than happy to do what I do and enjoy it to the fullest.
Here's a look at my day......
Early morning breakfast preparation
Irish Porridge, one of my favorite things on earth :)
More bread making
I love being up early while it's still dark outside, it gives me a chance to enjoy the quiet before the craziness of the day beings. One of the things I most enjoy is the simple glow of candlelight reflected on my herbs sitting on the kitchen sill
There was more homemaking today, and one of those jobs was cleaning the stove which I have to say is my LEAST favorite job in the home, but with baking soda it's so much easier. I love my baking soda for cleaning, it cuts right through the grease.
You would be surprised how much I get done before the sun starts to rise
I'm really starting to need to get a move on with Christmas gifts. I have a few things I want to make and if I don't start soon I have a feeling they will not get done.
How are you doing on Christmas gifts, are you making any, do you have any done?
The ones that I'm buying, I'll actually start getting tomorrow. Quite a busy day since it's payday and I have errands to run and groceries to buy AND my hubby's new college semester starts back up, which of course means dinner on the table by 4pm.
Oh well like I said in the beginning....just another day in paradise :)
Indeed. I work part time and am super thankful for a flexible schedule and the ability to be home and care for my kids and home. It's a blessing.
ReplyDeleteDo u have a recipe for Irish porridge ?
ReplyDeleteI loathe cleaning my oven too!! One of those jobs I put off :)
ReplyDeleteI am trying to get my handmade gifts completed this month, then its on to the store shopping which I hate to do!! Lovely photo's you have posted as always!!!
ReplyDeleteWe're half way done on christmas presents. We made sandlewood soap and crochet washclothes to go with each bar. We still have to make room spray and we're thinking of making some lotion too. We draw names and this year my hubbs and I drew his mom and grandmom and I couldn't be more excited. They love all the handmade stuff we give each year. Oh, and hubbs wants to make a bunch of jerkey for everyone too.
ReplyDeleteAm sitting here in the dining room with the door open (got it too warm with the woodstove), enjoying the quiet, and realizing that I have options. Things are happening jobwise, my mentally ill roommate (and her guest) will be out of my house in 2 weeks (that will go by fast), and I've started crocheting again.
