Monday, really??? I'm quite irritated this morning because I feel that this weekend in particular, just flew by and I didn't get time to do anything. Ugh!
Anyway, another week is here and we can't do anything about it, so might as well buck up and move on right?
As I look outside my window:::
38 degrees this morning. This weekend we had a mix of snow, hail, rain....it was like mother nature couldn't decide what it wanted. As I look outside my window, it's cloudy and grey, the streets are wet because it's been raining and there are a few remnants of snow here and there.
Right now I am:::
Sitting in bed, having quite made it up the stairs yet to fix coffee. I need a cup but I'm so cold I'm going to first warm up a little before venturing into the other parts of the cold house.
Thinking and pondering:::
On schooling, we start a new semester today and Jasmine is starting her Digital Photography class. I don't know who's more excited, her or me. LOL
On my bedside table:::
My Kindle, I'm still reading The Blackstone Chronicles and it's quite good.
On my tv tonight:::
We've been binge watching Heroes, love it.
Last night I watched Austenland and loved it so much, but still hated the ending just like I hated the ending in the book.
Here's what else I'll be watching:
Bitten - New show on Syfy
The Last Farm in Lowell
August Osage County
Listening to:::
My hubby and Nicholas chatting, and the fire crackling.
On the menu for this week:::
Monday - Tomatillo and Cilantro Chicken Enchiladas
Tuesday - Hay and Straw
Wednesday - Feijoada ( Portuguese Bean Stew)
Thursday - Burgers and Cheesy Fries
Friday - Beef and Broccoli with Rice
Saturday - Meatloaf w/ Mashed Potatoes
Sunday - Soup, Sandwiches
On my to do list:::
Put all the laundry away, and do two more loads
Homeschooling
Catch up on my mood blanket, I have to do yesterday's square and today's
Plans for this week:::
Tae Kwon Do with the kids tonight, Wednesday and Thursday
Tiffany has dancing every day except for Friday
What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
Working on my Crochet Mood Blanket. Also catching up on other blankets I've had laying around, hoping the inspiration I have for the Mood Blanket will push me right along to finish the others.
My simple pleasure:::
Photographing nature
Lesson learned the past week:::
That the way to change things is to change the way I perceive them or react to them. I can't just blame others or circumstances without including myself in the chain reaction. If I can control what I say and do, it WILL help the outcome of every other situation I encounter.
Looking around the house:::
Gave the house a good cleaning yesterday so there is nothing major to be done, aside from giving the bathrooms a good cleaning and then a little tidying here and there. All the remnants of the holidays are gone and my house is back to it's simple, clean state.
From the camera:::
Prayer List:::
My children and niece and nephew as they begin the second semester, I'm praying that they continue to do well and learn many things.
My husband and brother who are still looking for jobs.
Bible verse, Devotional:::
that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:19-20 NIV
PLEASE, don't add links to this list that are not part of the Happy Homemaker Monday. I've asked numerous times, and I'm frankly quite tired of having to remove links to other posts that shouldn't be in this list. Please be respectful of my request!
Hey Sandra! Hope you have a great day. I've had so many weekends that go so fast and I feel I've got nowhere. Big hugs. Hope you warm up on these chilly days xxx praying for your hubby and brother to get great jobs.
ReplyDeleteOn your menu, on Sunday, you wrote "Soup, Sandwiches" which I glimpsed to say Soup Sandwiches ... which reminded me of a military term (maybe just an Army term??) when a soldier was very mediocre or even not up to standard, they called him "Soup Sandwich" (as in useless as a soggy sandwich!). :) LOL
ReplyDeletePraying for the job situation there!! ((HUGS))
what is hay and straw on your menu?
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine's daughter is also taking Digital Photography and they both LOVE it! Wishing you both much fun with that!
ReplyDeleteThese cold days seem to be flying by don't they? Seems like it's over before it starts.
I love your Lesson Learned, I need to remember that one myself. I see how it would make all the difference on a situation by how you personally approach it. Sometimes a reaction or approach so small can make all the difference.
Here's to wishing you a great week ahead! :)
I always look forward to Happy Homemaker Mondays! Thanks Sandra....grocery shopping tomorrow, can't wait to make the date & walnut loaf :)
ReplyDeleteI also look forward to Happy Homemaker Mondays! Looking forward to more beautiful nature pictures. Have a great week.
