I don't know why, but this title just cracks me up. It sounds so bad hahahah
Anyway, let me show you my cookies, or those that I usually make during this season. I plan on baking a few different recipes this month and I'll definitely share them with you all.
(this was my first attempt and they were a pain in the behind, but plan to try again this month)
What do you think? Enough to keep you going for a while?
I'm very very excited to see what kind of cookies you have planned and if there are recipes, even better because I wouldn't mind some new ones to try :)

ReplyDeleteOh my, so many, many delicious recipes.....where will we start? I'm having a massive baking session this afternoon, to make biscuits as presents....we'll definitely be making some of these recipes too (trials - oh my goodness, what a strain it will be having to test them.....!!!!)....

ReplyDeleteWhen I make my peppermint patties... I spread the white filling onto parchment paper in a rectangle. Then melt the chocolate and spread over the top. Pop that into the freezer to set. Then flip it over and spread the other side with chocolate. Pop it back into the freezer. Cut into squares. A lot easier then the round kind.

As I wrote in my blog, I have never baked Christmas cookies, but this year I'll definitely try some options. I'll have to be creative, as some of the ingredients don't even exist here, but I'm sure it will be a great experience with my daughter. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteWow, you sure make a lot of variety of cookies. I am not a great baker but I do like to make a shortbread and a lemon poppyseed cookie and an almond roka candy. But I'm drooling over those cherry cookies and may just have to give those a try too!
ReplyDeleteTry this Peppermint Patty recipe.it works.

7 oz fluff (1 small jar)
10 tbsp. unsalted butter - softened
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. peppermint extract
5 1/2 cup powdered sugar
16 oz. 1 pkg Candiquick, almond bark, or melting chocolate
1 cup vanilla Candiquik (almond bark)- optional for footballs
Directions
In a large mixing bowl, beat fluff, butter, and extracts until fully combined.
Add in powdered sugar and mix on medium speed until well blended (may take a couple minutes for it to come together).
Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Using about 1 Tbsp of filling, shape into a ball, then flatten it for the traditional shape. If wanting to make footballs, shape into a ball and then pinch the ends. Continue until all filling is used. Cover with saran wrap and freeze for about 2 hours (or overnight).
Melt chocolate Candiquik according to package directions. Using a toothpick, dip frozen peppermints into the chocolate. Tap until all the excess has dripped off and place back on the parchment paper. Repeat until all peppermints have been coated. These should be set within minutes, because you are doing them while still cold
Store at room temperature in a covered container!
If making footballs, melt vanilla Candiquik according to package directions. Pour into a small ziploc bag and cut the corner off. Pipe laces onto footballs. Sets within minutes! ENJOY!
