Happy Homemaker Monday - 04/18/2016

Good morning everyone, I hope you've had a great weekend.  Mine was busy and also filled with some emotional moments related to my daughter.  We are having a really hard time with her and I find myself at a loss for words.

There is so much I want to say and do, and yet I find that at times I feel completely overwhelmed and helpless, almost wanting to run away and not have to deal with any of it.  I can say that I never in my life dreamed that things would turn out this way or that we would be having these issues.  She has a doctor's appointment tomorrow and I'm hoping and praying that we get some answers and some help.  Please keep her in your prayers.

Praying for::::
~ Still praying for my brother to find a job.
~ My daughter, we really need prayers, things are so difficult at the moment and I find myself questioning everything, what kind of mother I am, where I went wrong, how I failed.  It's exhausting.
~ Myself, I need prayers, lots of them.  I am not dealing with any of this very well, to say I'm struggling would be an understatement.
~ My husband, as we try to get through this we find our marriage strained and we're both at a loss.

Bible Verse, Devotional that is resonating with me at the moment::::

PLEASE, don't add links to this list that are not part of the Happy Homemaker Monday. I've asked numerous times, and I'm frankly quite tired of having to remove links to other posts that shouldn't be in this list. Please be respectful of my request!

  1. I'm so sorry you're having a rough time right now. Praying things settle down for you soon. Hope you get some sleep, 4 hours is not enough to deal with every day things let alone additional issues. Hope you have a peaceful week and that things improve with each day.

  2. HUGS & PRAYERS ALL the way around for your family as you deal with everything. I wouldn't give anything in the world to be a teenager today. Jasmine has so many more pressures than we did, but I know you're a good mom and you will all come out of this in the end stronger than ever.

Have a great week. BTW there is no link up on your post. http://www.savorykitchentable.com/2016/04/happy-homemaker-menu-plan-monday_18.html

  4. I can feel your heartache and worry though your words. I hope you get that nap. You cant take care of your family if you don't take care of you first. Praying you and your family are able to give things over to the Lord and take it day by day, and hopefully see the blessing in the situation no matter how hard it seems at this moment. sweet dreams.

  7. If you are looking for some resources, age of opportunity by trip, graffiti by Erin Davis or lies young women believe might be helpful?

  9. Praying for your daughter and hoping that things work out. I can't imagine what it's like being a mom to a teenager (yet) but I can remember what it was like to be a teenager and it's not quite like what the teens face nowadays. Don't give up and please don't think of yourself as a bad mom. She needs you. She may not even think she needs you but she does and someday she'll look back on this time and realize just how lucky she was to have you right there helping her through it all. Hang in there.

  13. I too, have gone through anguish with my sons at different times. I'm telling you this from the perspective of having lived through it and looking back. God has been faithful and things are much better now. Just remember, you're in the middle. The story isn't over yet. Remembering you and your daughter in my prayers.

  14. Sandra, Im so sorry you are going through this. I can only suggest what helped my family when we went through a rough patch with my daughter during adolescence. You and Curt need to be a united front. Catch some time for the two of you to talk a out the problem and decide on expectations you both can agree on. You both need to be firm, but let Jasmine know you both love her and are there for her. I don't believe you did anything wrong in raising her, but unfortunately whether it's outside influences or other things that spring up, the teen years are the hardest time parenting. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers.

  15. Thinking of you, I lived those days with my step daughter, I pray they become easier for you.......my step daughter is now to be 30, she has now realized, being a mother herself, the anguish she had put her father and I through and regrets it dearly, she now has a daughter, 7, who tends to think she is 13 lol...so she will more enlikely being experiencing it herself.......blessings to you and Curt, stay strong, you need each other to muster through this together......we love our children we had 4 total, two boys, two girls, thankfully only step daughter was the heart ache......but now they are grown, we are happy to say, we did it, don't want to do it again, lol, we love our grandchildren, but it's wonderful to send them home and just be us......

    Blessings

  17. I agree with everyone saying you and your husband need a united front. You may already be doing that, but I say it because teens sometimes will look for any chink in your armor to get at you to further their agenda/goals. Sometimes it seems like overnight they change. I found that forcing them to spend time with the family and not just friends helped. Social media wasn't here/or to the extent it is now so I can't really give any suggestions on how to deal with that, but others could. Just always tell her you love her and everything you do is for her welfare, just like it has her whole life. I also found not falling into the arguing/personal attacks worked well. Either they were sent to their room or I went to mine so that things were not said in anger/hurt and everything was made worse. I won't kid you, parenting teen is hard! I always say that 's why God gave us babies first so we had something sweet to think on during the teen years. You have raised her right and she WILL be fine. Pray!
