Grief, insomnia, despair, pain, confusion.  These are all recipes for disaster, as humans we tend to become overwhelmed quite easily and sometimes in the midsts of our storms and pain, we start feeling irrational and feeling like we are on a never ending roller coaster without the ability to break free.

So is the story of Jessie.

From the moment her ailing mother passes, she is thrown into life, trying to make ends meet and trying to get through the pain of losing her only family member.  She struggles, she has questions and fears and thoughts that seem to get worse when night falls and she should be resting.

Jessie applies for college and is denied, all due to a red flag that has been raised about her social security number.  What exactly could this mean, and how is Jessie going to deal with yet another shock?

The answers may lie twenty years earlier, in the life of Eden.  For all intents and purposes, Eden has the perfect life, she is married, she has a wonderful husband, a great house, except for the one thing she truly wants....a baby.

The thought of conceiving becomes an all consuming need and the only thing keeping her going.

I have to say that the story is so well written, it left me on the edge of my seat, turning the pages and wanting to badly to help both these women, to reach out and hug them or offer a word of comfort.
