Just a few days......
and we're starting a new year, a completely blank canvas again. Doesn't it scare you in a way?
I always feel like this when we're close to New Year's eve, it's that whole anticipation of what's to come and what will happen, though completely ridiculous because worrying about things that you have no control of, are just a waste of time.....in MY book!
Anyway, Christmas is over, we had a wonderful time and it was great that we got to spend it with family this year instead of the usual 4 of us.
We laughed, we ate, we talked, we played games and we sadly sad goodbye yesterday as they headed out the door on their way home.
After they left though, I completely pulled down all the Christmas decorations inside the house, including the tree. You might laugh or think I've done lost my mind but you see, once the holiday is over I just want my house back to normal.
I didn't touch the outside ones yet, those will come down this weekend.
While my in laws were here, we took them to the Saguaro Ranch Park, we wanted to walk around a little and Nicholas had the perfect place to ride his new scooter, besides, there's nothing like walking through a Rose Garden. It's like an assault on your senses, the colors and the scents permeating the air.
I'll show some pics, oh and if you've noticed the new header, those were taken there too.
My in laws, Pat and Ken.
I love this one, my girl is getting so big
Lots of chickens and Peacocks around the Ranch
It was interesting visiting with my father in law, having grown up in a farm himself he was able to explain what each machine did and how it works.
It was a fun afternoon.

But moving on, like I said we're almost at a new year and it's time for me to kick my own behind back into gear and start blogging every day, something which I've missed dearly.
Don't be surprised to see posts popping up left, right and center and to see my little old self visiting your blogs on a daily basis too. AS it is, I am almost afraid of opening my Google Reader, if I see over 1000 posts to catch up on again I may just have a conniption LOL
Well, I have lunch to prepare and I also want to settle into bed and read, I'll just say that it's THAT time of the month and you'll understand my need for a comfy bed, a warm blanket, a good book or tv show and chocolate....Oy!

Lovely pictures, just beautiful.
I'm looking forward to New Year, I don't know why I get an urge to 'be better...fitter...healthier...more spiritual, etc as soon as it reaches the end of the year. LOL
xxxxx
I love the pictures! They all show a loving family.
I like to take my things down and get back to normal too, so I don't think you're crazy!
As always love the new header...you are so creative. Our decorations came down the day after Christmas....I am like you... I just can't wait to get the house back to normal!!!
Stunning photos, Sandra! Christmas is still up here - we don't take things down till the 6th (12th night) here. No-one does. I think it helps to have all the lights on in the depth of winter. It makes the greyness fade away! And it is snowing again as I speak. Not great when my son and his wife and baby are on the roads. Sigh. This parenting thing (aka worry) never ends, even when they are grown!
Sandra,Great pictures.I hope that you and your family have a treific New Year.
Wonderful pictures! Glad you all had a wonderful holiday. I know what you mean about getting the house back to normal. I can't believe another year has gone by but I'm so looking forward to 2010!
Sandra,
WOW what beautiful roses still even in the middle of winter! Love how beautiful all these pictures came out and can't wait to see what 2010 will bring for you.
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
What wonderful pictures! I know just how you feel, Sandra, when Christmas is over, it's over and I'm ready to get things back in order!
Happy New Year.
I dont think you are crazy, ours go down the day after Christmas. Our house is small in normal seasons but at christmas it feels even cozier. It always feels like a breath of fresh air taking all the decorations down.
Great pics ... and the ROSES in December are wonderful!!!! :) What a sweet time your family must have had together.
I look forward to you blogging more often.
I'm like Linds, I keep my decorations up for awhile and celebrate the season as long as I can. I love looking at the lights on my tree and it's a little sad when I start taking them down. I guess because it's another year gone by.
Really enjoyed your pictures Sandra! You have such a good eye for photos and a wonderful way of telling your stories. That is why I ♥ your blog!
I'll take this opportunity to wish you a very Happy New Year, my bloggie friend! May the Lord bless you and your family greatly in the coming year!
Glad you had a good Christmas. I am glad it is all over & cant wait to get ALL THINGS BACK TO NORMAL! Is that possible? Looking forward to more posts from you. I am able to look at the posts on my Blackberry but hoping that I will have some reliable internet soon. Happy New Year!
I enjoyed looking at the pics and it looks like you had a great time with your in laws. Jasmine is getting so big. Boy does the time fly.
I took my decorations down too except for outside. I like to keep the outdoor lights up for the New Year.
BTW what does that machine do?
Glad to hear you are going to get back to blogging every day. I love your food blog too. I totally go there before I grocery shop practically on a weekly basis.
beautiful pics, Sandra..
I'm right there with you sista!
I may break my heating pad.
Those comfy days are a blessed thing.
It sounds like you had a great time with your in laws; loved the pics!
happy new year!
