{ Happy Homemaker Monday - 02/07/2021 }

Good morning sweet ladies, come on in out of the cold.

Help yourselves to hot coffee or a cup of tea, and let's have a chat about the upcoming week.  Do you have anything interesting coming up, or just the usual work/school planned?

We have a typical work and school schedule ahead, which is a good thing.  Nowadays, typical, usual and same, are words we are quite content embracing.

Yesterday I got quite a bit of cleaning and organizing done.  I seem to go through phases where I I feel this crazy urge to clean and change things around, and when that feeling strikes, I take full advantage.  I plan on doing more cleaning and organizing in the coming weeks as we prepare for Spring weather.

But, I will talk more on that in upcoming posts.

I hope you all have a blessed week ahead, and thank you once again for joining in every week, I appreciate it.

♥♥The Weather♥♥
We have a week of cold weather incoming, as we await a cold front to arrive.  I am just hoping this is the last hurrah from the winter weather before we start warming up.

Monday - 57, AM clouds and PM sunny
Tuesday - 44, partly cloudy
Wednesday - 40, cloudy
Thursday -  38, AM cloud
Friday - 35, partly cloudy
Saturday -  39, partly cloudy
Sunday - 41, mostly cloudy

♥♥How I am feeling this morning♥♥
Struggling a bit with the allergies, we've had a lot of wind which kicks up everything I'm allergic to.

♥♥On my mind♥♥
Jasmine got the job that she interviewed for, and she is very excited to start.  It is for a Marketing company and she will get to dress all business like, so very exciting for her.  Thank you for the prayers.  I'm also thinking about how I want to set up the garden in the Spring, what I want to plant, what seeds I need to order and so forth.

 ♥♥On the breakfast plate♥♥
This grocery shopping that I did, I decided not to buy my usual Nescafe Clasico coffee and rather use the Keurig coffee I still have on hand.  I have far too many and really need to get through them before buying anymore.

♥♥On my reading pile♥♥
Finished Jeremiah and am starting Lamentations today.
My daily devotional book.
Cilka's Journey
All Creatures Great and Small
Falling Home (book review)

 ♥♥On my tv♥♥
Portuguese Soaps, Bem Me Quer and Amor Amor
Brazilian show called Genesis, based on the book of Genesis in the Bible.

♥♥On the menu this week♥♥

Monday - Chicken Curry and Rice
Tuesday - Grilled Tuna Steaks, Garlic Parsley Potatoes, Roast Squash
Wednesday - Chicken and Black Bean Enchiladas, Spanish Rice
Thursday - Padre Island Shells, Sauteed Collard Greens with Bacon
Friday Ono's Hawaiian Chicken, Ono's Macaroni Salad
Saturday Bifes de Cebolada, Mashed Potatoes, Creamed Spinach

♥♥From the camera♥♥
I have this slight obsession with old books.  I think that not only are they beautiful in their simplistic covers, but the history contained within the pages is a treasure to keep for many generations.

♥♥Looking around the house♥♥
I moved my living room around, AGAIN!  I started to just vacuum and dust and before I knew it, everything was pulled out, cleaned up and put back in a different spot.  Yep, that's me, my husband never knows what he is coming home to.  Haha

♥♥New recipe I tried last week, or one that we really enjoyed♥♥
Nothing new, and as a matter of fact, the next two week menu is all about family favorites, most of which are already posted on the food blog.

♥♥To relax this week, I will♥♥
Read and crochet.

♥♥Something I want to share♥♥
I bring you a new channel that I found not too long ago.  There is something about these beautiful slow calming videos, that I am drawn to.  They make me feel relaxed and they give me even more appreciation for my life as a homemaker.

This new channel is called Choki, and follows the life of a sweet Japanese lady living alone.  I think you will enjoy her videos as much as I do.

Today's is called, A New Year with New Feelings.

♥♥Devotional, inspirational, prayer list or Bible verse♥♥

I'm purging my books and found a 1933 copy that I am reading. I found lots to read that I bought over the years I haven't read yet. Have a nice week.

Good morning! CONGRATULATIONS to Jasmine on the new job - how exciting. You and I are so alike in the cleaning and organizing - early on in our marriage hubby said he learned to always turn on the lights when he came home because nothing was ever in the same place twice if I'd been cleaning. LOL, it's still that way! Sounds like a great menu, family favorites are always a hit! Have a blessed week.

Good morning, beautiful lady!
We have cold weather coming here too. There is way too much snow in our forecast this week. I'm so glad you mentioned the garden plans, I need to start thinking about that too!
Tell Jasmine congratulations on the new job.

Congrats to Jasmine on her new job! Happy for her. I so want to move our living room around but we have furniture that needs to go a certain way right now. Won't make that mistake again. I miss moving the room around like that. Hope you have a warm and wonderful week!

Hello Dear Friend - I so enjoy these cozy times. I wish I could come enjoy some tea with you, especially now when it's -30 for temps here! Lol 😂
Congrats to Jasmine! That is awesome and so exciting!! I pray it all goes just great as she begins.
I've been getting in organizing mode here too. I bought some new organizers for a couple of closets and for cabinets in my bathroom. I look forward to tackling them. I have so many months before I can really think about Spring - but i love dreaming on it and flowers and new beginnings! 😉
Love love love the videos you share. Ones like this one are so calming to me too. Blessings on your week ahead. xo

Congrats to your daughter on the job!
I need to do the same thing with my teas as you are doing with your coffee.
I'm not one to move much of anything around, but maybe I should!

Have a great week
