{ Happy Homemaker Monday - 02/02/2026 }

Hello sweet friends, welcome to my little corner of the world, and to a cold 30 degree Texas.  But, even though it's a little chilly, I am smiling because the cold is about to leave us and grace us with 70 degree weather.  I'm here for that.  I've said before I love winter, and I love snow but I think too much of a thing is too much, and after the crazy winter storms we've had, warm weather is very much appreciated.

So, how was your weekend?  Did you rest, did you run around like crazy and feel like you didn't get a weekend?  Mine was good, I did some running around but for the most part, enjoyed my days and took time to do the things I love.

I apologize for not having a post after Thursday, I fully intended to do daily blogging, but Friday I took the day off for me, and I did take pictures and will go back and post that blog for you, and then Saturday and Sunday I didn't pick up my phone or sat at the computer, I just took time away from technology and it did me a world of good.

Well, now here we are, a new week before us, and I do plan on blogging more.

For now though, enough babbling, let's just get on with our post for today.

Have a blessed week ladies ♥

 *** The Weather ***
Cold, chilly, freezing, still have ice and snow on the ground from last week.  A real bummer of a winter for sure, but lots of sunshine and warm weather coming up.

Monday - Sun and clouds, 69
Tuesday - Sunny, 63
Wednesday - Cloudy AM, Sunny PM, 56
Thursday - Sunny, 70
Friday - Sunny, 76
Saturday - Mostly sunny, 78
Sunday - Partly cloudy, 72

*** Right now I am ***
In bed under the covers.  I am so cold.  I have some YouTube on the telly, I'm working on this post and also chatting to my hubby.

*** Thinking and pondering ***
About how connected we are to technology and being online.  I want to reach a point in my life where I no longer feel the need to reach for my phone, anytime I have a spare moment.  The mindless scrolling does nothing for me, it doesn't bring me happiness or joy and just wastes my time.

I've started to take off weekends, not reaching for the phone, not being on the computer, just being away from all of it, and even though I've only done it once, this past weekend, it did a world of good to me.  I feel refreshed!

*** How I am feeling ***
Feeling good, happy that the weather is heating up, happy that I have spent this weekend doing the things that I love.

*** On the breakfast plate ***
I have had a cup of coffee and a banana keto pancake.  Will have another cup of coffee later this morning.

*** On the lunch plate ***
I have no clue, I do have a lot of leftover roast chicken from last night, so may make a chicken salad.   Or I may have a sliced apple with yogurt, honey and peanut butter.

*** On the dinner plate ***
Tilapia in tomato sauce, curried quinoa, chickpea salad.

*** On the menu ***

Monday - Tilapia in tomato sauce, curried quinoa, chickpea salad
Tuesday -  Creamy Oregano Steaks, Macaroni and Cheese, Greek Salad
Wednesday - Seafood Rissoles, tomato rice, salad
Thursday -  Chicken Changezi Curry, Rice (will use leftover rice from previous night), Broccoli and Cauliflower
Friday - Homemade Pizza
Saturday - Fend for yourself
Sunday -  Greek Makaronia, Garlic Bread, Salad

*** What I am wearing ***
Pajamas at the moment but will switch to some leggings and a tank top.  My favorite pajamas are the Joyspun Brand from Walmart, they're so comfortable and soft.

*** On my reading pile ***
I started the bible study A King Washes Feet and am absolutely loving it.  Will be reviewing it in February so keep an eye out for that.

I am also almost done with the second Megan Soja book.

In the Bible I am starting Ephesians, just really want to read it again.

*** On my TV this week ***
This weekend I have gotten back into my Hallmark and Up Faith and Family movies.

I also have a few Period dramas that I want to watch and I'll share those with you in a separate post, but one that I have wanted to watch for years and still haven't, is Emily of New Moon.

*** Looking around the house ***
The sun has come out and it is reflecting off the while snow, creating that super white bright effect that makes you have to squint.

The house is quiet as Curt and I are the only ones awake at the moment.

*** To do list for today***
Daily homemaking chores
Water inside plants
Daily bible reading and devotional/bible study

*** What I am creating ***
In my project bag, I have a knitted hat on the go, the crochet blanket on the go, and I am wanting to start another puzzle today.  I also have a big lego plant I got for Christmas that I want to build today.

*** From the camera ***
I have so many pictures, but unfortunately I have to wait until later today to edit them.  I have had my laptop for about 15 years and this weekend it finally gave up.  I can't unplug it at all because it immediately dies, so Curt surprised me with a new computer, this time he got me a desktop and I am loving it, but have to get used to it.

I have also been installing all my programs again, including photoshop, and desktop computers don't have a slot for SD cards, so all my photos from Friday are stuck in the card.  I am getting a card reader this morning so I can finally edit and post them for you.  So for now, here's an older photo.

*** Devotional, Prayers, Bible Verses ***
Thankfully we were able to get back in church yesterday, and it was amazing.  I feel so at home, so happy when I'm worshiping and learning more about God.

We are continuing with our series The World is Not Enough and what a great message it was.  If you wish to listen, you can do so at this link.

I only use the phone for necessary calls and for what's app. Only family and closest friends. Others can mail me, so I can read and answer at my own time.
That works best.
Glad you got a new laptop. Congrats!

Enjoy your week!
