{ Blogtober 2026 - Day 26 - Happy Homemaker Monday 10/26/2026 }

Good morning and welcome back!

I am so tired this morning and actually wondering what happened to the weekend.  And why is it already the end of October?  I've often said that time is flying by but this is getting ridiculous, I've quite perplexed at how fast the days are moving.  This year practically just started and we are but a few weeks from Thanksgiving.  What is going on?

Anyway, I need to go back and publish posts for the days I missed, it's been a busy busy week.  That's another thing I'm over at the minute.  I am over the busyness of life, of always feeling like I'm being stretched thin, overwhelmed, needing to be places.  I'm just a bundle of joy this morning aren't I?  hahahah

Let's just get on with the post before I ramble even more.

Have a blessed week my friends.

*** The Weather ***
It's been really nice.  Cool mornings and then warm afternoons, well warm as in high 70s or very low 80s which I happen to enjoy.  I think we are getting some more rain this week, so yay for that.

Monday - Mostly cloudy, 78
Tuesday - Partly cloudy, 79
Wednesday - Mostly sunny, 84
Thursday - PM showers, 81
Friday - Rain, 67
Saturday - Showers, 73
Sunday - Cloudy, 80

 *** Right now I am ***
Actually sitting on my bed with my laptop.  I am too tired and too stressed and too all over the place.  I'm listening to a book video on YouTube, the babies are asleep on the bed next to me and the roosters are crowing out back.

*** Thinking and pondering ***
Life and the upcoming holidays.

*** How I am feeling ***
I have been struggling a lot lately with anxiety and doom and gloom thoughts.  I have never dealt with anxiety before but it's been so bad lately, it's driving me up the wall.  My doctor says it's related to hormones and upcoming menopause, which I am very close to according to her.  I don't know how any one deals with this because it's making life a bit hard for me at the moment.  Everything sets me off.  The pets not feeling 100% gets me going, a family member going through a hard time gets me going, the crazy world around us sets me off.  It's exhausting and I am just over it.  If you have any tips please send them my way.

Also, allergies have been at their highest this past week too.  Good grief!

*** On the breakfast plate ***
I just had my second cup of coffee and a maple donut.  I am regretting it now, but nothing I can do to change that.  Oh well.

*** On the lunch plate ***
Tuna salad.

*** On the dinner plate ***
Lebanese beef stew, rice, broccoli and cauliflower

*** On the menu ***

Monday
Lebanese beef stew, rice, broccoli and cauliflower
Tuesday
Dad's favorite chicken, Mashed potatoes, Salad
Wednesday
Meatball Moroccan Stew, Couscous, Sauteed Squash
Thursday
Sausage Rice, Salad
Friday
Lahmacun
Saturday
Kielbasa Pasta Bake, Salad
Sunday
Chickpea and Sweet Potato Curry, Rice

*** What I am wearing ***
Still in my pajamas, will change into something later hahahah  I don't even know what I'm going to change into, a dress?  Leggings?  Shorts?  Who knows.

*** On my reading pile ***
2 Samuel in the Bible.

The the first book in the Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion series.  I am almost done with it, it is a short book so even though I haven't had much chance to read this past week, I am way past the middle point.

*** On my TV this week ***
Vlogtober on Youtube.
Great British Bake Off on Netflix.
Turkish series.

*** Looking around the house ***
I've kept up on my daily cleaning, so don't have much to do today other than the usual daily chores.  .

*** To do list ***
Bible and Devotional time
Daily homemaking chores
Water inside plants
Embroider the eyes on the crochet cat
Daily 10k steps

*** What I am creating ***
Universe in Bloom Blanket by Look at What I Made.

Puss in Boots by Toft Crochet.

*** From the camera ***
I love morning light, and this picture I got last week just makes me smile.  The way the sun is streaming in through the blinds.

*** Devotional, Prayers, Bible Verses ***
My brother Paul as he continues recovering from his heart surgery.

For me, I need prayers for this anxiety, it's driving me crazy.

I'm not sure how you feel about medication but I'd think about strongly. Anxiety is such a thief of joy and, well, everything. There are a lot of tips out there, none of which I can remember at the moment, but I do know none of them really worked for my mother. I'm in the early stages of perimenopause, and she's in full-blown menopause. Her anxiety was to the point that she could barely go to church. She's on a low-dose antidepressant, and it's helping so much. It doesn't have to be long-term but could be something to help get through this part of life.

And my advice on the meds is this. It's nothing to be ashamed of or to feel like you have to battle alone. It's no different than taking medications for a serious illness. The anxiety isn't just 'in your head' (something an ex once told me); it's a legitimate, real chemical imbalance that we don't have to suffer.

I'm praying for you and hoping you're able to find a way to help calm it. I found that reading Psalms helped me lean on God more while I dealt with my anxiety; even now, while medicated, reading David's pleas to God is a great comfort.

I take hormones since menopause and it does a world of difference. Hoping you feel better and that you enjoy your week

I was just wondering what happened to all those carefree hours I used to have? Why is it life has gotten so busy? What's the old saying - something about slowing down the merry go round because I want to get off? And here we are just 60 days until Christmas and a whole new year right behind it!

I agree with Lucie and Felicia - do what you have to to feel better. Anxiety is real and can be crippling without help. I'm keeping your brother in my prayers. Heart surgery recovery takes some serious time. My brother had heart surgery last year and is still recovering.

Have a great week my friend and enjoy the cooler weather.

I added up in error last year for Anxity around the time of anniversary of my husbands passing. I have always been a bit anxious but it was over the top.
I was on medication till this month. I have stopped because I am out of it and b.p. meds. Prayers please.
Diet is all centered on healthy . I drink chamomile tea and pomegranate. I would drink pomegranate juice and did for awhile but it us more than I can afford. I might go back to it and just do 8oz a day.
Just keep praying and get into scripture. Best Sherry

I agree with the others.
Upcoming menopause means your hormones are out of balance and your body is seaching for a new way of dealing with the changes.
Ask your doctor to assess your hormones and give the proper treatment we have these days to enable women to feel a lot better than the generations before us.
There are also a kind of menopause specialists your GP can refer to when he or she doesn't know how to deal with this.

I'm so sorry you're dealing with anxiety, that is tough. I learned to do some of these with the kids at preschool but found they also helped me as an adult: going outside if only for a few minutes (helps reset nervous system), deep breathing (sounds silly but if you make a 5 with one hand and trace it while breathing in and out with a finger from the other, it helps. Or think smell the flowers/blow the bubbles. My favorite is one called the pretzel breathing where you cross your arms and legs while doing deep breathing, probably have to look it up. And I like peppermint essential oil on my inside wrists as well. Hope you find some peace and calm soon and have a great week!

So I read your post today, and I'm usually really reluctant to share some advice about health with others since I've been a fairly unhealthy person for a lot of my life lol, but my heart went out to you today! I had struggled so so so much the last year with my hormones! I honestly feel like a crazy person sometimes. I've even let it affect things like my blog, sometimes I would feel so crazy that I thought- maybe that's it, maybe if I just leave the internet I'll get better! But it didn't help. About a month ago, my sister visited a doctor and she recommended chaseberry supplements to her. At first I didn't want to take them because I'm already taking medicine to regulate my blood sugar and blood pressure, but then I researched it and got to the point that I had to try something, so I bought them. They are Chaste Tree supplements, and since I've been taking them I feel sooo much better. Certainly consult with your doctor, but for me, its been worth it to regain some of my sanity. I'm in my early 40s, and during the luetal phase of my cycle, I sometimes feel out of control. This has helped.
I've also been studying Christian brain rewiring, and I've learned the same about breathing. Oddly enough, if I can take a deep breath, followed by two quick ones, then exhale slowly until my lungs are completely empty- it somehow seems to reset my nervous system.
I'm planning to blog about all the things I've done, and I also have my blood sugar and blood pressure under control for the first time in years so I'm sure that's helped, but my anxiety levels are dropping fast- So I felt like I needed to share that with you today. That was a long comment lol, I hope thats okay! But I just wanted to let yo u know you are certainly not alone! :) And now we all know why I really deleted my blog- a few times hahaha!
I'll pray for you! God works all things to the good for those who love Him :) remember that!

Hello my dear beautiful Friend! I feel for you and totally get it. I think you've had so many family things lately, that I get where you would feel stretched thin and that time is going even faster than normal. You have not really had good time for yourself. I think time for you and pampering yourself a bit might help. Of course prayer helps all. And maybe put very little pressure on yourself this holiday season. Keep things simpler. I think we as wives and Moms always put so much pressure on ourselves. Sending big hugs and I hope you have a wonderful, slow, relaxing week ahead. xoxo

Hugs, Sandra! The anxiety here is wild (but I've always been an anxious little bird). Prayer helps. Reading helps. Running helps me a lot. Sending you love this week.

Hope your brother makes a speedy recovery. I know that doom and gloom feeling, been there - medication is good for getting it under control and then you are better equipped to go it alone, little rewards and treats each day are so good for us too, a magazine, chocolate, a favourite video, a bunch of flowers - I used to constantly tell myself I can't afford it/can't have it ... you can!

Good morning Sandra, I agree with Felicia and Jean above, anxiety really is a thief of joy, and it is so hard when it comes on with everything else going on at home. I have had days like that too, where even small things set me off, and I just feel stretched thin from morning to night. What has helped me most on those days is stepping outside for a few minutes, taking a slow deep breath, and letting myself have a quiet moment before I try to do anything else. Prayer has helped me a lot too, and I am praying for you, and for your brother Paul as he keeps recovering. I loved the morning light through the blinds in your photo, and well done on keeping up with your daily cleaning even in such a busy week. I hope this week feels slower, kinder, and a little lighter for you, with some time just for yourself.
