when you pull a muscle while sleeping and wake up in excruciating pain.
Yeah, that moment came at me fast this morning. The pain is centered in my right shoulder blade area near the spine, and it's the most annoying, frustrating twinge ever, to the point where reaching for anything with my left arm hurts like heck. And breathing....goodness, even deep breathing hurts.
I've been surviving on motrin, heat pads and doing much of nothing all day, which is the worst thing you can do to me. I'm so used to being on the go constantly that I find myself impatient and downright annoyed when I'm forced to slow down.
But I did still manage to do a few things.
Starting with throwing some chili in the crockpot first thing in the morning.....
then puttered around with some decorations and put this one together for my dining table...a little bit of Christmas cheer and sweetness
a few more decorations are making their way out of storage
and since I love snowmen so much, these have to be some of my favorite decorations
put the finishing touches on my Christmas village
Wasn't able to get as much done as I was wanting to, but there's always tomorrow right?
Thankfully hubby didn't have classes tonight, but he was home a little earlier this afternoon and seeing as everyone was hungry, we sat down to an early dinner
If you're looking for the recipe, you can find it here on my food blog.
As you may have noticed, I have also changed the header, I wanted something Christmas or winter themed. Looking at it makes me happy, it takes away a little of the sadness of missing a white Christmas.
So I just keep reminding myself that next year I'll be able to enjoy that, up close and personal :)

Hope you feel better soon, this is not the time of the year for MOM to be down and out!! Ha Your decorations are lovely
Hope you are feeling better today. I love the new banner!
Hope you are feeling better, pulled muscles do take time to heal...but hot tea, a warm blanket and feet up to watch a good movie is good medicine ;-)
I love that you 'puttered' around the house putting up some Christmas. I Love to putter around...such a good, homey word.
Oh I got this warm, goose-bumpy feeling when I saw your Village Santa in the horse-drawn, covered wagon, handing out a present, and he has a RED COWBOY HAT on!! I've never seen this scene, so wonderfully original...I love it! Do you recall where you got it? Fantastic.
Please keep getting better...the new snow header is great...and I'm so happy that you'll be playing in the white stuff by next year! Wow.

Hope your feeling better soon!
Hi Sandra,
LOVE your blog! and am going to check out your food blog too.
Just wanted to share a little something with you. I also get that muscle pull way too often. I see a chiroprator & she has me do heat for 20 min & ice for 20 min. Doesn't sound comfy but it does help. Hope you feel better soon!!
Pamela
