Good morning.
How was your weekend?
I had a pretty good one, as always I try not to do much of anything or plan much of anything on the weekends, so that we can really take the time to relax, take it easy and have no place to be and no commitments to attend to.
Yesterday however, we were out with my sister in law, niece and great niece. We spent a really nice afternoon in town shopping for the baby and she even got her ears pierced. She truly is a beautiful delightful and calm baby, so happy all the time, so aware of everything. It's a joy watching her develop.
I don't have much planned for today, just have a few phone calls I need to make, and we do start school back up as well, so there's that, and then the usual homemaking and cooking that is a part of our daily lives.
Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful Monday, and a blessed week ahead. Let's get started with our Happy Homemaker Monday for today, shall we?
The Weather:::
It is 54 degrees at the moment with a high of 67 predicted. I don't even know what to say at this point, we were at 20 degrees and snowing just a few days ago. Texas truly does it's own thing when it comes to weather. The rest of the week looks like we'll be staying in the 50s and then may get some rain by Friday.
Right now I am:
In the living room, sitting on the couch. I got up, made my bed and tidied up the bedroom, made some more coffee and some toast and am now working on getting this post up.
Thinking:
That I should make a quick to do list so I don't forget to make certain phone calls, but I'm so tired, woke up at 230 am and couldn't really fall back asleep until well after 4 and then the alarm goes off at 6. It's going to be a long day.
On my reading pile:::
Still reading through With This Pledge for a review, as well a the Outlander series, just finished Drums of Autumn and have started Fiery Cross.
On my tv:::
Not sure actually, but I know I'll find something to watch. I may continue with Vikings and try to catch up on that even though there are quite a few seasons.
I also will be watching the latest sermon from Pastor Furtick, that is up on Youtube, it is called Come Through Dripping.
Favorite Blog post this week:::
I don't have a specific one, I did however manage to visit you all and I really enjoyed that. I would say that I'm most excited that my friend Sarah is blogging again, so if you have a moment, go on over and say hi :)
On the menu for this week:::
I have meals planned until Friday, then my new two week menu will kick in, but, I haven't written that one up yet, so not sure yet.
Monday - Indian Fry Tacos with Cilantro Lime Rice
Tuesday - Biscuits and Gravy, Omelets, Bacon (Breakfast for dinner)
Wednesday - Fish Fingers, Macaroni and Cheese, Salad
Thursday - Slow Cooker Split Pea Soup, Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
Friday - Family over for dinner, my niece is heading back home to Idaho on Saturday (Feijoada with Rice, some sort of dessert)
Saturday - Out to dinner with husband's side of the family, my brother in law is heading to Korea for a year to teach
Sunday - Breakfast for the family (I'm not sure what I'll be making, probably some sort of Breakfast Casserole, Yogurt Bar (granola, fruit etc), coffee, juice)
On my to do list:::
Laundry - Kids have their laundry to do
Homeschooling - New semester begins
Phone Calls
Start working on new menu
What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
I finished my pillow, and now just need to figure out what I'll do for the back and then put it all together. I love the way it turned out, such a simple and quick pattern to work up.
Looking around the house:::
House is clean and I don't have much in the area of cleaning. My kitchen is also clean and I don't even have dishes to do so I'm pretty happy with myself. I just have a pile of clean laundry on the back of the couch that I need to move to the closet.
From the camera:::
My little boy Marley :)
On my prayer list:::
Please pray for my friend's daughter, Kassandra. She was in a serious car accident on the 23rd and only today has been able to have surgery done. She is a young girl and has so much life ahead of her. Please keep her in your prayers.
My friend Courtney whose husband is fighting cancer.
My mother in law Pat, she just finished radiation.
My family, for health and financial stability.
Friends and family as well, who I always pray for.
Bible verse, Devotional:::
Today's devotional comes from Joyce Meyer:
The Word says that Jesus had a habit of going up the mountain to spend time with God. Luke 22:39 says, And He came out and went, as was His habit, to the Mount of Olives, and the disciples also followed Him (AMPC).
Jesus formed a habit of communicating with God every morning.
It has been said that if you do something consistently for 30 days, it will become a habit. You can either make or break a habit by consistently doing the same thing. Follow Jesus, and form a habit of starting your day with prayer.
Prayer Starter: Father, I want to make a habit of spending time with You. You are my Source of help and strength, and I can’t have any real success in life without You. Help me to today to begin spending regular time with You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Hi Sandra,
That is a really nice pillow. I hope Marley is feeling better today. My cheeky girl had a similar illness a week or so ago, and I finally put it down to her having eaten something. She is a basset hound and is always eating things she shouldn't, it is like having a toddler underfoot lol.

Love, love, love the pillow!! So cute!! Your menu sounds yummy this week! And I am back after a crazy break from my blog! Happy Monday!!
Great menu! I too am back after a few hectic weeks of Christmas.
Have a great week
Aw, Marley is such a cutie, hope he's much better now.
Thank you for the mention! We've known each other through blogging etc for 12.5 years now! So excited to be back blogging. I've gone back and filled on all the blanks on my blog diary up to 2016 and I'm going to work on the older posts, there are so many missing photos.
Anyway, have a lovely week <3
I just LOVE that pillow - the pattern, the colors - GORGEOUS! Adorable Marley picture also. Sounds like a fun menu and so many family oriented events will make it better. Have a GREAT week.
Weather is super weird isn't it? Super warm (for January) yesterday and now there's a chance we might see snow on Saturday. Hope Marley feels better and you have a wonderful week!
