{ Happy Homemaker Monday - 11/25/2024 }

Good morning sweet ladies.  I am actually getting this post up pretty early,  so early that it is pitch black outside.  The wind is howling, the temperatures are pretty cold, and it really feels like a Winter day, although yesterday we were in the 80s.  Can you believe that?

So here we are, the last Happy Homemaker Monday of November.  Crazy to think.  I am switching into full on Thanksgiving mode, which means, before I go anywhere else, if you haven't yet done so, GET THOSE TURKEYS OUT OF THE FREEZER!

Sorry for yelling, but I felt that it needed to be said.  Last thing we want is to end up with frozen turkeys.  Alright with that out of the way, let's get cracking with our post for today.  I am hoping to do a Blogmas again this year, so will try to work on that and plan it all sometime this week.  *fingers crossed*

If I don't return with a post in the next few days, have a wonderful blessed Thanksgiving week.
xoxoxoxo

*** The weather in my neck of the woods***
Had some heat this weekend with temps in the 80s but we are now back to what is normal for this time of year.  Cold.  I could do without the wind to be honest, but it is what it is.

Monday - Windy and partly cloudy,  54
Tuesday - Mostly Sunny, 60
Wednesday - Mostly cloudy, 69
Thursday - Mostly Sunny, 51
Friday - Mostly Sunny, 53
Saturday - Partly cloudy, 60
Sunday - Partly cloudy, 48

*** Things that make me happy ***
Old fashioned holidays.  I don't much care for all the faff and craziness.  I love a Christmas tree with old family ornaments that have been kept year to year.  I don't understand the need to redo everything and buy tons of new decorations each year.  I love the sense of the old Christmas we used to have, the classic Santa pictures and the old Christmas cartoons and movies.  Those are the things that make me happy!

*** Book I'm reading ***
Reading Isaiah in the Bible.

I started  The Cruel Prince by Holly Black, but only read two pages, before setting it down.  Not because I wasn't enjoying it but because I really felt like reading something else.

That something else is Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel.  I had seen the trailer for the new Wolf Hall series (I watched and LOVED the first).  The second season Wolf Hall The Mirror and the Light actually premiered on the 10th of November on BBC.   Here is the trailer:

*** What's on my tv today ***

- The Plague series from BBC
- Homemaking Vlogs

The Great British Baking Show
Christmas movies

*** On the breakfast plate ***
Just had a cup of coffee, will probably have some oatmeal in about an hour.

*** On the lunch plate ***
My Jasmine slept over last night, since everyone is off this week, she wanted to spend the day with her brother, hanging out, playing games etc.  One of my kids favorite lunches is tuna salad, so I'll be making that for them.  I'll be having tuna salad as well but without the potatoes, just using leftover lettuce salad from last night and adding some tuna.

*** On the dinner plate ***
Turkish Chicken Bake, Rice, Lentil Salad

*** On the menu ***

Turkish Chicken Bake, Rice, Lentil Salad
Tuesday
Shrimp Pasta, Zucchini in Tomato Sauce

Chili dogs, fries (omelet for me)

*** New Recipe I tried or want to try ***
Just thought I would share some Thanksgiving recipes that I'll be using this year.  It seems that every year I change it up, try new recipes, and thankfully I've never had one turn out bad.

*** What I am creating ***
Nordic Winter Afghan.
Juniper Garlands for the front of the house.

*** No words needed (favorite photo or picture) ***
The Christmas Mugs have been pulled out ♥

Today's verse:
For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. - 1 Timothy 4:4-5

Glad to see you're weather is cooling down again. I've never had tuna salad with potatoes - sounds interesting. I'm with you on the traditional Christmas decorations - those are all my favorites, the ones handed down through the years!! Have a blessed week and enjoy the family. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
