{ Happy Homemaker Monday - 09/15/2025 }

Good morning friends.  How are you?

I felt it important to start with this simple but yet profound question, because if you're like me, you are grieving and reeling from the horrendous week we all just had.  My mind can not comprehend evil, because I'm a child of God and a being of light, there is no place for this kind of depravity in my life, and so when faced with these tragedies, I shrink back into my shell and dive into the Bible and let God guide me through.

My heart goes out to Charlie Kirk's wife Erika and their two young children.  It goes out to all who are grieving and in shock, as I am.  My heart also goes out to Iryna Zaruska and her family and friends.  My heart also goes out to the children and families of the school in Denver.

I don't want to make this long, I don't even think there's anything I can say in the face of such evil, other than, turn to God, go to church, reflect and search your heart.  We are truly in the middle of a spiritual war.

God bless you all ♥

The weather:::
I thought we were headed into fall with cool temperatures, but summer  had to come back and throw one last hoorah.  Thankfully it seems by the end of the week we may get a little reprieve.

As I look outside my window:::
It is already 8am.  Usually by now I have already put the post up, but I'm late today.  I'm slow I should say, because I'm tired.  I couldn't sleep well last night, woke up at 2am, then 3am, then 4am.  So, where usually I would say that it's still dark outside, it's not, it's bright albeit cloudy, but the day has dawned upon us.

Right now I am:::
Sitting on my bed, sipping in my hot coffee and working on this post.

Something fun to share (a blog, a video, a tip):::
Baked Apple Pie Rings.  These seem to be making the rounds online, and since I had a few apples that were bruised and needed eating as soon as possible, I made them.  They turned out so good and were very quick to make as well.

Here is a recipe by Krazy Kitchen mom.

Thinking and pondering:::
I will keep my thoughts to myself right now.  My mind is numb and full of thoughts and things going around.

On my bedside table:::
Cup of coffee with half and half, Kleenex and my phone.

What I'm currently reading:::
Roanoke by Margaret Lawrence and the Book of Enoch.

In the Bible we are in Daniel at the moment.

On my tv:::
YouTube (homemaking, books, fall inspired)
Christian sermons, prophets, teachings.
Hallmark Autumn movies

Listening to:::
A video on YouTube.

On the menu for this week:::

Monday - Beef Paprika, Egg Noodles, Salad
Tuesday - Roast chicken and Potatoes, Cheesy Broccoli Casserole
Wednesday - Fish Fillets with Homemade Tartar Sauce, Tomato Rice, Sauteed Green Beans
Thursday -  Penne a la Vodka, Salad
Friday -  Slow Cooker Chicken Shawarmas
Saturday - Fend for Yourself
Sunday - Pizza Loaves

On my to do list:::
The usual daily chores.
Change bedding.
Carpet Clean.
Daily Bible reading and daily decree
Daily 10k steps

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
I created the most sweetest Autumn Fairy house from a craft pumpkin.

My simple pleasure:::
Believe it or not, reading the Bible.  It soothes my soul, it reignites a fire within and it gives me comfort.

Looking around the house:::
The usual aftermath of a weekend well lived.

From the camera:::
How beautiful is this Dragonfly? ♥

Bible verse, prayer, devotional:::
 "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me- Psalm 23:4

I shared this verse last week, not even knowing the horrible days that were coming.  I was going to do a different verse, but I think this one is so important to keep in our minds.

Happy Monday, I know how you feel. I'm tired and restless. Life just seems a little more anxious right now. I too have turned more to prayer this week. I think it's all I can do right now. Praying you have a blessed week.

I pray for our world every day and do my best to put out love, peace, His hope and understanding into the world. I live in HIs word and that is where I find true comfort. Big hugs and love to you and your family. The apple rings sound amazing! And that dragonfly photo is stunning. Blessings and prayers for a better week ahead. xoxo

Sandra, thank you for the sweet message you left on my blog this week. I am crushed over what happened to Charlie and for his family. My heart is broken for them and equally broken at the hatred that I've seen this past week on social media. Now, more than ever, we have to share Jesus. There is no other way for this country to survive. I hope you have a sweet, cozy week. I, too, am turning to my Bible for comfort, as I always do, but especially in times like these. Take care :)

I agree with you about what is going on around us and just keeping my thoughts to myself right now! It seems like I'm just walking around perpetually shaking my head! I am DEFINITELY trying those apple pies this week also. Beautiful dragonfly - they are so delicate, yet so strong. Have a wonderful rest of the week.

Very well said. My heart has been crushed over all of the evil and I have, too, just put my trust in Jesus because He is the only way to get us through.
