{ Happy Homemaker Monday - 06/07/2021 }

Good morning sweet friends.  Hope you've all had a great weekend.

I thought the week before last was difficult, but without a doubt, last week was worse for me.  I am not doing very well mentally, I think the constant stress of the past year and a half, has finally started affecting me.

I've always considered myself a strong woman, optimistic and positive, always looking at the silver lining.  Unfortunately, I feel that all seems to be dwindling, and I'm finding it harder to deal with life in general.  To say I'm struggling is an understatement.
I held back tears during church service yesterday morning, but the minute we got in the truck, it all came flooding out.  My poor husband didn't know what to do with me.

If you don't see me posting much, just know that I'm trying to take care of myself, and get back on track.  Sometimes we need to step back, and put our health and well being first, before we can be there for others.  Hope you understand!

My blog used to be my refuge, the place I would come to chat and get away from stress, but the unkind comments the past few months, have also contributed to my mental health decline.  It's sad but it's the reality.

So, bear with me, while I try to find my way through the giants facing me at the moment.  I will be fine, and I will be back to my happy self in no time.

Have a blessed week friends, and be kind to each other.  This world is lacking kindness and compassion.

On my TV:::
Been watching a few more Holocaust Documentaries on Netflix, as well as Survivor Testimonies on YouTube.
Although they are difficult to watch and listen to at times, I think it's so important to know what took place.  As one of the survivors said, without History we have no Memory, and without Memory we repeat the mistakes again.  watch.

On the menu for this week:::
I'm back to posting regularly on the food blog, so if you're looking for some new recipes to try, go on over and take a look.
We managed to stick with the menu the whole week, which hasn't happened in a while, but I've been enjoying my time back in the kitchen, it has helped me stay focused the past week.

Monday -  Grilled Garlic and Pepper Jack Sausages, Potato Salad
Tuesday - Carne Guisada com Massa (Portuguese Beef Pasta), Salad
Wednesday - Zucchini Casserole with Bacon
Thursday - Instant Pot 40 Cloves Garlic chicken, Rice, Salad
Friday - *Grocery Shopping*
Saturday -
Sunday -

On my to do list:::
Yard - We have been working really hard on our property.  We made a small parking area for visitors.  Built a wooden fence, installed lights and put down driveway gravel.  It's a lot of back breaking work laying down all those rocks, but Curt and I love it and we tend to use work around the house, as a distraction when life is stressful around us.
Garden -  My blueberries and raspberries came in.  My roses are doing really well too, and all our fruit trees are growing and thriving.
Home - Just the usual housework
Doctor - I have my OB appointment all set up.
Vet - Need to call this morning to set up Marley's follow up appointment for the end of the week.

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
Still working on the Sweet Blossom Blanket from Sue Rawlinson of Sweet Pea Crochet.

Looking around the house:::
It is really dark due to the rain outside.
Marley just came running into the bedroom with the cat close on his tail.  These two are like real siblings, annoy each other and then also lay together and share food and treats.

Kids are asleep, but as usual Jasmine will be up soon.  Curt is about to leave for work.
I've opened the curtains and blinds in the house, and the back patio door (screen is closed of course), to let in some fresh air, and of course listen to the rain as it comes down.

From the camera:::
As I said above, been cooking a lot and sharing on the blog.  This was one of our faves this past week.  So good.

Something fun to share:::
I thought you may enjoy visiting Northern Japan.  So today I bring you yet another great video from Angela's Simple Life.  Hope you enjoy ♥

On my prayer list:::
♥♥  Our Marley.  The Apoquel has helped him a lot when it comes to his allergies, but unfortunately the swelling has not subsided.  Back to the vet it is, until we can pin point the real issue and fix it.  Please continue to pray for our boy.
♥♥  My sister in law Hayley is going for her biopsy on Wednesday afternoon.  Please pray for her.
♥♥  For my mental health and well being.  As I said above, I am really struggling lately.

Just wanted to take a minute before I left to work to tell you how sorry I am for the unkind voices. I find your blog so peaceful and encouraging and it really saddens me that someone would leave less than positive feedback for you. Praying for you to be encouraged today and for the unkind commenters to gain some compassion and kindness in their voices. Have a great week!

I just can't imagine who or why someone would leave you unkind comments - I'm so sorry you have been subjected to that. Step back and take the time you need to find that strong woman you are. The naysayers are fewer and farther between than those that appreciate your strength and the strong woman that you are. Sending you BIG hugs and prayers. Have a better week.

I can't imagine why anyone would leave you a rude comment. Everything you post is wonderful and inspiring. Also, this is YOUR space and you are free to say what you want. If others disagree they should just move right along. I understand the importance of taking care of your mental health. You've been through a lot personally and all while dealing with a worldwide pandemic. I want you to know you are not alone. I will keep you in my prayers.

It is awful that people can be so hurtful. I am sure they would not like it if unkind things we said about them. Take care of yourself and remember there are more people out there that love your blog and support you then there are haters. Hope you have a better week.

Oh my dear Sandra! I'm sorry you're still struggling so. I think keeping focused and busy on your beautiful home and garden must help and prayer of course. But maybe consider therapy too? I have been doing that as I struggled so much with the end of my marriage and some of the things the ex has pulled since. Working on healing and forgiveness, but lots of other pain in my heart too. It has really helped to get outside perspective -and my insurance covers most of it. Just a thought. Prayers for things to get better. And for Marley too!
And I love seeing your cooking on insta and I need to just spend a day playing on your food blog 😉 Have a great week my Friend. xo

So sorry you're struggling. This past year has been hard on a lot of people, so don't feel you're alone in this. I will pray for you as well as your sister-in-law and your sweet boy Marley. Hang in there! Thank you for the recipe for the copy cat Big Mac's. Yours looked amazing.

I am so sorry you are going thru this. I can not believe people would leave unkind comments to you! That is the work of very unhappy, insecure, or just plain mean people. I love reading your blog and hope you continue. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers......

I will never understand why people leave nasty comments on blogs, FB, Instagram, etc. It makes absolutely no sense. I just believe they must be very sad, lonely people who have nothing better to fill their time with. I am the same as you are and it would upset me as well! Just know you have a lot of people who love and support what you do!

Just like everyone else has already said, there are rude people out there and they just don't understand compassion and kindness. It is nothing you are doing personally it's mostly on them. Maybe instead we should start feeling sorry for them. If they are that negative and hateful then their personal lives must be awful. So there is another way to look at it.
Next, you should check into aromatherapy with essential oils and a diffuser. There are so many benefits for your health and well being and mental clarity that it is amazing. I am going through menopause and believe me, I need them. There are ones for everything. Pinterest is full of info. If I want to know if there is an oil for a certain ailment or issue I'm having I will type it in the search box "essential oils for ....) hit search and wholah. I have tried so much and found my staple oils and will not let them run out. It has made a big difference. Especially with sleep issues at night.
Soak yourself into serving your family and your well-being. Think only positive thoughts. Maybe some books that you read may cause some anxiety or different emotions. We tend to get really involved in story plots when we read and almost become the character. Mabe pick positive books or etc. Stay with the Bible too. Meditate. Spiritual growth is so important too. Keep staying busy with projects too to release tension and just relax.
I hope some of these ideas help. I always find peace after reading your posts. Have a blessed day.
