Happy Homemaker Monday - 05/13/2024

Good morning sweet ladies, and a very happy Mother's Day to you all.  I sure hope you had a blessed Mother's Day.  Mine was wonderful, spent with my kiddos both human and furry Hahah

I am actually typing up this post a little late today, I forgot to plug in my laptop last night (something I do every.night), and woke up to a dead laptop.  Had to plug it in and wait for it to charge before I could come and sit down.  Some days right?

Anyway, let's get on with our post that is already running a bit late.  Have a blessed week ladies!

Sandra

*** The Weather ***
Last week's weather was just insane.  We have more severe storms coming today and later in the week, this spring has been a bit crazy, to say the least.

Monday - Thunderstorms, 81
Tuesday - Sunny, 84
Wednesday - Sunny, 90
Thursday - Thunderstorms, 76
Friday- Partly cloudy, 83
Saturday - Sunny, 89
Sunday - Sunny, 93

*** Right now I am ***
Eating my breakfast at the dinner table, and working on this post.

*** Thinking and pondering ***
I was a bit bad this weekend, especially yesterday, I had two slices of pizza and a lemon bar.  But in my defense I am good every other day and have been for months.  I do tend to be a bit hard on myself and feel guilty for doing it, so I'm trying to remember that it's a one day thing, and that we just go right back to watching what we eat, and it's fine.

We really can be our biggest critics, can't we?

*** How I am feeling ***
Honestly?  Gross.....carbs don't do well with me anymore and I'm feeling it.

*** On the breakfast plate ***
Coffee with milk, and 2 scrambled eggs with spinach, onion and tomato.

*** On the lunch plate ***
Chickpea Salad with Tuna.

*** On the dinner plate ***
Bifes de Cebolada (Pork Chops in Tomato Sauce), Mashed Potatoes, Salad.  I won't have the mashed potatoes, just the salad.

*** On the menu ***

Monday
Bifes de Cebolada (Pork Chops in Tomato Sauce), Mashed Potatoes, Salad
Tuesday
Spinach and Artichoke Chicken, Chickpea and Lentil Salad
Wednesday
Sheet Pan Tomato Basil Gnocchi, Cucumber Salad

*** What I am wearing ***
Grey leggings and a pink spaghetti strap top (will be working out later)

*** On my reading pile ***
Starting the book of Revelations.

*** On my TV this week ***
Youtube - Brazilian and Portuguese Homemaking Vlogs, Slow Living and Quiet Vlogs
Turkish shows - Ruzgarli Tepe, Gelin, Kara Agac Destani, Kara Sevda
Sic Portugal TV - Senhora do Mar
Paramount - Star Trek Discovery
ShardLake  - I am quite excited to start this one, it is a period drama taking place during the Tudor Era and focuses on the dissolution of the Monasteries, you can watch on Disney+ or Hulu.

*** Looking around the house ***
With all the rain my poor carpets need constant cleaning, which is also not good for them.  I've been spot cleaning as I go, but today I really need to get the carpet cleaner going.

The house right now is quite dark for this time of the day, because it's cloudy and we're expecting storms.

*** To do list ***
Cleaning the house

Bible and Devotional time
Reading time
Crochet time
Workout

*** From the camera ***
My sweet girl got me some really cute gifts for Mother's Day, among them the cutest coffee mug that says Crazy Chicken Lady with a ton of cute chickens on.  I did use it already this morning and it's in the sink, so will take a photo another time to show you.  But, something else she gave me is something I've been wanting for a long time.  A Turkish Tea glass and saucer set, the teapot and the Turkish Tea.  I am so excited to try it this afternoon.

*** What I am crocheting or sewing ***
Still slowly working on the crochet blanket.

*** Devotional, Prayers, Bible Verses ***
Prayer for the day

Let me be acutely attuned to Your Word, so that each decision I have to make will be in Your will, almighty God.

Hello dear Sandra!
Yes, we are always hardest on ourselves. You should be so proud of all you've been doing to take care of yourself and all the progress you've made. It's awesome!
Love the tea pot - it's so pretty. How fun that you can see through it to watch the action. I'm so glad you had a lovely day!
Blessings xo

What lovely gifts! you need teas that open up in flowers in that teapot!
You are doing great, 1 day doesn't define you in your eating habits.

Have a great day

Does the Turkish Tea have sage in it? I have had some tea from around that area before and it had sage in it and it was delicious! Have a wonderful week!
