{ Happy Homemaker Monday - 11/17/2025 }

Good morning everyone, welcome back to my little corner of the world. I have been a bit offline, didn't manage to get any other posts up last week, which ruined my streak of daily posts, but that's ok, we will just pick up today and move on.
It was a busy, stressful week with the whole shutdown issue and sickness around here.  But, everything is fine now, Curt will be getting paid again starting Wednesday, and everyone is well on the way to being 100% healed from the crud that was going around.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and I wish you a very blessed week ahead.  Let's get right on with today's post.

 *** The Weather ***
Far too hot, we even hit record highs the other day and are looking at another record high today.  Ridiculous for November!  We do have some rainy days ahead and I'm very much looking forward to that.
Monday - Sunny, 88
Tuesday - Sunny, 84
Wednesday - Cloudy, 80
Thursday - Thunderstorms, 69
Friday - Sunny, 69
Saturday - Sunny, 66
Sunday - Showers, 66

*** Right now I am ***
Sitting in bed and getting ready to get up and start my day, but going to get this post up for you all real quick.

 *** Thinking and pondering ***
Thankful that the shutdown is over and we got through it, a little stressed but God held our hand and is now rewarding us for being obedient.

*** How I am feeling ***
I'm feeling good, a little sore from the gym work out this weekend, but it's a good sore that means rewards, right?

*** On the breakfast plate ***
Had a cup of coffee and a bowl of oatmeal with coconut and banana.

*** On the lunch plate ***
I need to cook some more chickpeas for the week, and will have a chickpea and sardine salad for lunch.

*** On the dinner plate ***
Haven't done the pork roast yet, so will do that today.  Pork Roast, Basmati Rice, Steamed Broccoli and Cauliflower. I have been having way too many carbs lately and it has affected me horribly.  I haven't put on weight but I am dealing with insomnia again and bloating and generally not feeling as energetic, so it's time to cut back on it again, and concentrate on the protein and veg.

*** On the menu ***
With pay coming back to normal, I am able to get back on our usual routine of grocery shopping and menu planning.  I will be going through my freezers and fridge today, see what I already have, and then meal planning for the next two weeks.

Monday - Pork Roast, Basmati Rice, Steamed Broccoli and Cauliflower

*** What I am wearing ***
Pajama pants and tank top.  Not working out today, so I will probably just throw on a comfy dress.

*** On my reading pile ***
 Bible Recap.
A Falcon for a Queen by Catherine Gaskin for my personal reading.
I have two Christian non fiction books that just arrived, for reviews so will start on those as well.

*** On my TV this week ***
YouTube cozy vlogs

Turkish Series:
Guller ve Gunahlar
Kurulus Orhan
Halef Koklerin Cagrisi
Esref Ruy

New Robin Hood Series
Hallmark Christmas movies

*** Looking around the house ***
I have started putting up a few Christmas bits here and there, nothing major, just some garland above the big windows and my paper snowflakes.  I need to carpet clean again.

I moved the small area rug I had in the living room, to the dining room, and have another rug arriving today, for the living room.  I want to give the carpets a good clean before putting this rug on it.

*** To do list for the week***
Daily homemaking chores
Water inside plants
Second row of Part 5 of the Solstice Star Blanket
Daily 10k steps
Grocery shopping
Picking up my prescriptions from the pharmacy on base

*** What I am creating ***
Solstice Star Blanket CAL by Helen at Crystals and Crochet

*** From the camera ***
I was looking back on old blog posts, specifically November posts and came across one of our drives to Flagstaff when we were stationed at Luke AFB, Arizona.  We would go every year at the end of November to pick up a real Christmas tree, since Flagstaff got snow and cold weather, where Phoenix was just a hot hell of a mess all year round.

*** Devotional, Prayers, Bible Verses ***
Thanking God for His promises and for helping us through very stressful weeks.  God always does things to show us that He is in control and providing.  Some things we may not think are big enough to share, but I have to because it's in these details that we see His love for us.

Elliott's dry cat food.  I know, what an idiotic thing for me to bring up, but listen to this.

Obviously I have to buy quite a few times a month when it runs out.  What if I told you that the whole 6 week shutdown I didn't have to buy, it never ran out, it always stayed the same even though I was scooping out of that tub twice a day.  Sounds unbelievable doesn't it?  But it happened and it shocked me and perplexed me, but also reiterated for me that God looks after us in every single little detail, even the food we give our pets.

I can't imagine it being that warm in the middle of November, then again I'm in Pennsylvania where it's currently in the 40s and very windy. We can switch places lol. I'm so glad the government shut down is over and you can breathe now. I'm glad that even in those uncertain days you experienced God's provision.

Hello dear Sandra. So very happy to hear that the shutdown is done and can take that worry away now. And that you're all feeling better. Thanks be to the Lord! And that story about Eliot's food blew me away. God is sooooo good!! Love that pic from the AZ days. Postcard worthy. Blessings on your week ahead. xo

Good morning ~ so glad to hear you're all recovering from that crud and life is getting back to normal around there even if the weather is far from normal! God does provide and things always work out the way they are supposed to. Have a wonderful week my friend.

Sandra, I love that cat food story! God does work in the most creative ways and I believe every bit of your story. He is our provider. I'm so glad your husband is receiving his pay again. What a trying time. I was praying for you and several other friends who were going to work, but not getting paid. And I'm glad Texas is (at least) not as hot as Phoenix! But it's time to get down to business. It's still hot and humid here in Beaumont. Yuck!
